Bariatric Buddy
Thought for the day - Sunday
Morning bariatric buddies !
I found article on silencing the self-critic in you, thought I would share a little each day this week.
Having a calm, peaceful mind greatly improves your efficiency. When your thoughts are free from self-criticism, you can confidently do what you want to without fear of doubt. Today I ask you to realize that putting yourself down is so unproductive.
Why do we put ourselves down? I am sure that as individuals, we could each come up with a list of why. I do not want you to start such a list. Instead, I challenge you to just start acknowledging that you are worth the time and effort to become healthier. Start your day doing some self talk that is positive. Be your own best cheerleader. Consider starting the day thinking, "today, I will......" and just fill in your plan.
If a whole day is just too plain long a time to plan, then for the next 5 minutes, hour, until lunch, you set the duration of the time. As you have success in cheering yourself on, the time span can be increased.
We all do it, make negative comments about ourselves, either out loud for others to hear or very quietly, thoughts that we think in our minds. Let's make those negative thoughts downright positive. I work on this daily, the more I practice, the easier it gets. Maybe you want to put a note on the bathroom mirror that makes you smile. Put a mirror by the door and look at your smile as you leave the house.
Come back sometime this week and share the positive things you told yourself.

Ohhh Kathy... I like this! Right up my alley. Something I have been working hard at for months now and progress on all the time!
today I congratulated myself, as I accomplished many things on a very long list of to-do's. I did slip in a short nap, and that served to refresh me and allow me to continue my day productively. I actually accomplished more on the list than I had expected to. WOOO-HOOOO.
Tomorrow.. I WILL compliantly and happily go for my appointment for my endoscopy. Hoping all goes well, and no other testing will need to be done.
