Hey Kathy - thanks again for the welcoming hugs.....sooooooooooooo neeeeeded right now.....
My surgery was a challenge but the benefit for me was that I work in Healthcare as a UCC and I was a patient on my own ward.......the nurses were tossing coins to see who could be mine..LOL I was never short of a visitor on that floor and I start back to work on Monday...I'm now on regular food "thank heaven" but I still have those sweet proteins to get through to make sure I get that protein in.......do you have any ideas about getting through a plateau - I don't seem to be losing these last 2 weeks.............any suggestions?

Welcome to the group, Karen.  What area of Ontario do you live in?  I don't live too far from there; I'm just outside of Detroit and have been known to cross the border for a day of bingo once in a while LOL!

Hi Karen,

Yes, I had surgery on 9-30-09; so far, I have lost 40 pounds.

Frankenmuth is always a great trip, but of course it's mostly about the food.  My husband and I were both born in December and we just got our cards for a free birthday dinner at Zendher's.  Of course they will be getting off easy with me now that I can't eat so much!

Hi Karen. Yep, unfortunately the plateaus will come and they too will go. Had my firt one at 11 days out and it lasted almost 2 weeks. I was livid.. since then I have accepted that this is just the way it goes for me.. and so many others as well.

When you are earlier out from surgery, there are a few things to look at when considering busting the plateau. First: Are you drinking enough water ? If not your body will retain fluids to help keep you from dehydrating. Also our lost fat is flushed out of our blodies via our urinary tract, so must have plenty of water to flu**** out! 2 Are you getting enough protein? Maybe up it a small amount. # You may need to shake up your routine with exercise a bit.

But remember...as hated as they are, the plateaus will come and can last 2 to 3 weeks at times. But they will pass, and in the end, it is all going to be ok, so long as you are making wise choices.
Hugs!
Patrece
