Hello everyone - my name is Karen I live in Ontario Canada and I had RNY surgery October 9th....I'm 41 - single mother of one chihuahua and a long haired tabby cat...Aunt to many human children..LOL.  I"m a chronic sweetaholic and since the surgery have discovered that if someone put a brownie sundae in front of me I'd probably hurl.................Ive eaten nothin but sweets since the surgery - sugar free jello, pudding, boost......I long for something savoury and thank god have finally reached soft diet stage and AM SO FREAKIN' HAPPY ABOUT THAT.............
WHO NEEDS CAKE when you can have scrambled eggs!
My progress is going well.........I am trying to get photos up.......but it seems my files are too big..LOL I'm working on it...I'm glad to meet all of you I hope there are more Canadians in your buddy group - but support doesn't have to be local..............I'm glad I'm not alone regardless...........

Welcome Karen!  I wish you luck in kicking the sweet cravings to the curb! I bet you ARE very anxious to actually be able to chew something again. Just be sure when introducing new foods to do so slowly, so if something does not agree, you can identify what it was.

I believe we do have one or two here from Canada. Hopefully they will come and welcome you. BUT warning..it can be very slow around here on the weekends, so don't be disappointed if you do not hear from too many folks, I guess we all stay busy on the weekends.

Thanks for joining us and congrats on joining us all on the losers bench! Thanks for sharing your journey with us!

Thanks Patrece - just seeing your chart and your progress is a good motivator - I keep thinking how all this is possible to lose this weight and well it is coming off - I do find myself at a bit of a standstill right now.....I know that you can plateau and then BAM all of a sudden it starts coming off again....but by golly gee it's frustrating...LOL
I hope everyone is off getting their exercise on the weekends......that's why it's slow...LOL
Tell me do you have any plateau busting secrets for me?

I'm glad to be on the losers bench for the right reasons this time! LOL thanks so much!

I am in Fort Frances, yes Northwestern Ontario. It is right on the border of International Falls MN. Our town stinks too! We affectionately call it Fart Frances! Cause that's exactly how it smells!

I know you will enjoy this website. I certainly have. See you on the boards!

Hi Karen and welcome to the group.  Congratualtions of completing your surgery and Welcome to the losing side of surgery.  I too looked forward to something non sweet after all the sweet liquids.  Unjury has a chicken protein that is not sweet, served warm.  Yummmmmm hit the spot when I was soooooo tired of the sweet proteins.

You are so right, support can come from around the world.  Cyber hugs coming all the time.  My husband and I are raising our furry children, photos on my page.  They know that they are adorable and prove it multiple times a day.  Take care as you introduce new foods to your pouch.  Hugs, Kathy
