Here's wishing you all a wonderful and joy filled weekend. Do you have anything planned to make it fun or enjoyable?

Are we all geared up to face this upcoming holiday season and stay strong and make the best choices for our journey and wellbeing? Tomorrow, I will be posting to our site blog with encouragement and idea for avoiding the temptations that lay ahead for us, and also for handling and dealing with the "food pushers" we are likely to encounter. So, I hope you will all check back tomorrow for that blog entry. Do you have a plan in place yet for this holiday season? If so, I invite you to share your plan, ideas and strategies with us all.

Have a most wonderful weekend.

Hugs!
Patrece

We are breaking tradition this year and going out to eat.  My husband is off for the entire holiday weekend for the first time in 15 years.  We decided that the expense and effort for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner just wasn't worth it for 4 people.  We always have exactly the same thing for Christmas dinner so it isn't like anybody will have to wait until next year for their favorite holiday dishes.

We have chosen a very nice Italian restaurant.  I will be choosing something high protein and really resist the temptation to order any pasta, probably shrimp or fish.

I will also request a "to go" box be brought to the table with the meal so that I can put what I won't eat into the box first.  That way I won't be tempted to take "just one more" bite.

I won't really have any "food pushers" to deal with until Christmas.  My husband, mother and mother-in-law are all very supportive of my efforts and so far have not done anything to suggest that they would sabotage my efforts.

Awesome. Sounds like you have a great support system in them! Also a very good idea about having the to go box delivered to the table with the meal. I have heard of others doing this as well, and it sounds like it would work very well for portion control.

I have been hinting that Dennis take me out on an impromptu date.  Had to explain what I meant first.  Time will tell if he does this.  He is working evening shift this weekend, hopefully next week on his day off.  Planning to go driving to look at holiday lights closer to Christmas.  I told him that that was too long to wait for a "date".

I knocked off 2 loads of laundry and the patching this morning.  Now I can look forward to more pleasant things.  Getting the car windows defrosted so I can run errands and do some shopping.  I want to see if I can find another pair of slacks.  The last ones are getting pretty baggy.  I could live in sweats, just don't want to.  Sweats look pretty dumpy for all the time wear.  Buying Dennis a couple new sweat pants, the last ones have been washed so many times that they are getting to be "high water" length.

I was at the gym around midnight last night.  Had the place to myself.  Only problem, background music was too loud, had a hard time hearing the book I was listening to.  Reading - or rather listening to 'The Shack' while I walk on the treadmill.  Helps the time to fly by, I get lost in the story.

Taking the dogs out for a long walk this afternoon, when the weather is warmer. Right around 35 degrees here now, lovely sunshine.  Miss the sunshine when I am sleeping during the day, after working night shift.  I have the bulbs to simulate sunlight installed in the fixture over my sewing area.  They help during the cold of winter.  Keep the blues away with the short days.

Going over to visit some of the in-laws for both Thanksgiving and Christmas.  I will fix a turkey meal here sometime in between the holidays so that Dennis has leftover turkey for munching on.  Turkey with homemade gravy sounds good at this time, may have to fix one sooner instead of later.  I can wait till Thursday at this point.  I work the night shift before and after Thanksgiving, so will be spending part of the day asleep.

Going out to enjoy my weekend off.  Catch up with the group later.  Hugs, Kathy

Wow.. a midnight workout.. sounds nice and private! I wouldn't mind that. But if the music was loud, that would have bothered me, especially if I were trying to listen to my own thing. Maybe time for a suggestion box comment?

Hope you get your date and that it is something other than just a drive to see Christmas lights.

Watch that gravy.. If you must have some, very little, as the carb content will be big. Have a great evening.
