Good Sunday Morning to All

Good morning everyone!  I just wanted to start my day by checking in.  I'm a little sore today; spent about 4 hours outside in the yard, raking/blowing leaves and cutting the grass one last time for the year.  Don and I work well together ****il he gets bossy then I put him in his place!  LOL!).  We built a fire in my little portable fire pit and it was just nice to see the yard come together and enjoy the cool weather.

I tried to go to my OA meeting yesterday morning which is held at the hospital where I had my surgery but they were having a Christmas parade and all the roads were blocked off.  I hope no one needed an ambulance yesterday because there was no getting to the emergency room.  It actually kind of ticked me off that emergency services were unavailable due to a parade.

So far today I'm doing good with my eating program.  I've been up for 3 hours and haven't had any carbs.  This is a huge acheivement for me.  A scrambled egg with cheese for breakfast, AM supplements and I will make a protein shake to take with me in the car as I head out to Walmart this morning.

I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Good Morning Colleen and all my buddies.  I am so glad that I got outdoors yesterday.  The sunshine in MIA today.  That will not stop me from a good dog walk after lunch.  Slept in a bit this morning, still on my work sleep schedule for the most part.  Staying on the same schedule is best for my body.

Cottage cheese with pineapple for breakfast.  Planning and egg/cheese bake for lunch.  Supper is still up in the air.  Happy shopping Colleen.  Got my new walking shoes yesterday, going to break them in today.

Hugs everyone, Kathy

You have fun breaking in those new shoes. I am sure the pups will enjoy assisting in that process by accompanying you as you do so. Do something good for yourself today.. something fun..work on a quilt maybe? Keep up your good work!
Hugs!

Colleen, Good for you staying away from those carbs. I am wondering...when you are tempted by carbs, what kind are they? Is it sweets? Breads? just wondering what your personal trigger is. They say if you avoid these carbs the cravings go away within 3 days. Problem is the "mental" cravings can still be there.
I struggled alot with carbs prior to my wls. After my surgery, I took the stand that they are my enemy..plain and simple, and I avoided them like the plague. Do you dump from the carbs? Even tho dumping is a bummer, it would be nice if you did, as that would definately keep you in check there.
I find that if I do for whatever reason crave something sweet, if I eat a fruit that is sweet, like grapes, or pineapple, it really satisfies me with the cravings. And since it is sweetness form a natural source, I am ok with that. Thois is the guidline I set for myself from day one. If it comes froma natural source such a a whole fruit or a vegitable, than it is "pouch worthy" in my opinion and I do not hesitate to eat these foods. The processed stuff.. that is a different story altogether.

I am suprised they would locate a parade right there where it impedes access to the hospital. Whoever planned that was not using many brain cells at the time. I would have been very upset at that.

Keep up the great work on avoiding the carbs! I know it isn't easy, but always remember, they are likely what helped get you to where you needed wls, and you don't want that battle going on again later. Much better to fix it now. Hugs!!!!!!!!!! Keep up the great choices!
