Ok so today was my second Seminar for the local surgeons...i like both the surgeons...i like what they both said...I have a HUGE decision in front of me...I have to call my insurance to ask a question about whether or not the place that I have surgery has to be a Center of Excellence or not...because the surgeon that I am leaning to is NOT a Center of Excellence yet but will be by the beginning of next year...a big step coming up and I will let you know what happens...OOOHHH YEA i forgot something..I asked the Surgeon what the timeline for a date was and He said that from the seminar date to surgery date is only between 4-6 months!! i was shocked!! Hopefully I be joining you all on the losers bench quicker than I thought!

Wow Jeanine, looks like you are on the road.  Nice to have your surgery done at a Center of Excellence, by  the time yours comes up, they should have the standing.  Take the time to decide which is the best procedure for you.  Hugs, Kathy

Hey Jeanine. Most insurance companies will not pay for surgery unless it is a center of excellence. But as kathy said, by the time you are getting things going, they should have that designation in place.
I am very happy for you! Glad too that you feel good about both surgeons. The ball is rolling! Best of luck with this!

Hi Jeanine!

I hope you get the response you are looking for from your insurance company.  My surgeon wasn't a Center of Excellence and the insurance company didn't require that it be one.  They are supposed to be getting that designation as of today.

Good luck with this and I hope you get your date soon.

Hi Jeanine. My insurance would cover either but prefers the COE (and I did 2). But if your pick will soon be designated COE she should be fine anyway. Congratulations and good luck with whichever your final choice is.

So I think that I am going with the COE because my insurance only covers COE...I am ok with this because I did like both surgeons...but I must say the doctor that I preferred did like OH as a reference to help with surgery and support! I thought that was AWESOME!!
