Emotions

I've been an emotional basket case all week.  Crying, losing my temper, upset for no reason.  I thought I read an article about how weight loss affects the emotions but I can't find it.   Has anyone else read it?

I didn't read a specific article about it, but I was very emotional the first couple of weeks after surgery.  My patience was very thin and I'm not a very patient person to begin with.  Short-tempered and weepy.

I say just give yourself a break.  You've been through major surgery and now you and your body are going through major changes.  You'll get through this; you did exactly the right thing by posting to the group.

I will keep you in my prayers that this passes for you very soon.

Hoping you find some peace and your mood levels out very soon for you. Please do read the article, and consider asking your doc for antidepressants to help you through this time.
Hugs to you!

Thanks for writing the article Patrece.  It helps to understand what is going on.  I'm losing weight very rapidly right now.  It's been 3 weeks since the surgery and I've lost 18 lbs.  I'm going on a short fun vacation over Turkey day and I hope that will help - no stress just fun.  Thanks!  Bonnie

Hi I am six and a half months post op lapband and believe me I understand your feelings.   I think I was about three weeks out when I started having a very emothional hard time.   I think it has to be normal for us.   Mine only lasted for about a month and then it was gone pretty much but I can tell you that unlike before my surgery, I am now a very outspoken person.   Take care and give yourself time, the emotions will improve.    Hugs.............Anna
