A Scale Victory! Woo Hoo!!!!
OK, so you know how I was so bummed out that last week, when I weighed in at my PCP's one week post-op, I had only lost one pound. I told myself that it was still early and you all told me the same thing. Posting my concern and hearing your encouraging words really helped! :) Part of it, I think, was that I had been taken off of two of my blood pressure medications, both of which were diuretics. The doctor put me back on them, because my blood pressure was high. That was last wee.
Well, I am please to tell you that this week I had a scale victory today. The scale moved, boy did it move!!! I am down 25 pounds since last Thursday. Isn't that the most insane thing you have ever heard?? When I texted my husband in the waiting room (LOL! I love technology) his response was, "Man, that's a lot of water weight lost!" LOL!!! He is sooooo right.
So, now I am down a total of 36 pounds (including the 10 pounds lost pre-surgery). My clothes are looser....my wedding ring and watch feel loose...and my knees aren't hurting so bad. Yippeeeee!!!
Now, let's see what happens when I hopefully go on soft foods tomorrow after my post-op appointment!
Thanks for letting me share the good news!!! :) Totally insane.....

Yeah for the victory, scale and nonscale (clothes, rings fitting looser) victories. Feels good, doesn't it? How is your blood pressure now? You may get off the meds at some poin****ch for dizziness with standing. Thanks for sharing. Hugs, Kathy

Thanks, Kathy! You are right...I hadn't thought about the non-scale victories, too, as part of it! :) My blood pressure is much better now that I am back on all my meds, but my PCP said the same thing: that I needed to just pay attention to how I am feeliing to see if the number is going down. I have had blood pressure issues even when I was thinner and younger, so I am really curious to see how this weight loss will help.
Kathy, thanks again. I am psyched!

Thanks, Vick! Yes, it is a lot...an insane amount! But, I really think it is mostly water, as I was not on my water pills for so long. And before surgery, for some reason we couldn't figure out, I was also retaining a lot of water and actually gained some weight prior to surgery because of it. So, the 25 pounds, me thinks, was almost all water that has just accumulated.
I have no expectations that I would lose that much again. But, I will enjoy the victories for the moment!!! :)

CONGRATS!!! Doesn't it just pump you up to see results like that!?! Just one thing tho... don't be too quick to blow it all off as water weight. I am sure a good 5 to 10 of that was fat loss as well. So an extra yeeehaaaaa for that! Keep up the good spirits and the excellent progress.
Man... you are doing awesome!!! So so happy for you!
Hugs!
