Howdy, I finally found sometime to sit down and write to the group. I want to introduce myself, my name is Melissa most call me Miss. I'm 26 years old. and approx 257 or so they said the last time i was weighed  I am very shy, I can type away all day and hide behind my computer but f we are face to face I am quite. About 7 years ago my dad had gastric bypass, and I see how much it changed his life. Beside my dad I have 2 really close friends who had the surgery with in the last 5 years who look amazing today and really are a great support through this all.

At this point I am 55 days from surgery (Jan 11th) and I have one more appointment with the dietitian and the nurse practitioner (12/9) and I need to meet with the surgeon again before the surgery. I have all my other needed approvals done, cardiologist, pulmonologist, endoscopy, psychiatrist. I have one more life skill class (this Thursday 11/19) and everything is going smooth.

The closer I get to the more nervous I am, but i can not wait to be sitting on the losers bench I see pictures of myself and I am just not happy anymore, my husband loves me for who I am, I just don't love me, its not healthy anymore. I have other medical issues, fertility wise, (3 miscarriages in less then 2 years) make things rough sometimes

I am always looking for friends, even if they are just in cyber world. Wishing everyone the best of luck!

Miss

Hi Miss, So glad you posted and introduction.  If you have any questions, comments, concerns, just let us know here on the group page and we will do our best to supply you with our ideas.  Sorry to hear of your miscarriages, hope the results are what you expect after surgery.  Please wait the recommended time after surgery before planning another attempt for a baby.  Let your body heal and get accustomed to the new you first. The time before surgery will just slip on by before you know it.

Hoping you get lots of cyber friends here.  Hugs, Kathy

After lots of tears and talking we decided that we are going to wait about 2 years to try to have a baby, mean time we might adopt a little one next summer, after his bypass. He is waiting for me to have mine and see my results and get me back on my feet before he goes for his. :-)

Hello and a big welcome Miss!
First ...I must express my sympathy on your losses. That is so very difficult to deal with. Be encouraged tho. My daighter wasn't even able to get pregnant for years... a week ago, (after she has had RNY and loast almost 200 lbs) she found out she is with child. We are thrilled. Amazing what the weight loss can do in that department! Never give up hope Miss. NEVER.
Kathy is right, the time between now and surgery is going to fly by! Just a suggestion...if you have not already, start getting together the proteins, vitamins, etc you will need post op. You will not feel like messing with it right away after surgery. If interested, the vitamin I use is BB vitamins. They are specific to bariatric patients and one of the better tasting ones I have tried. Flinstones truly does not cut it! You can request a free sample pack at www.bbvitamins.com

Ask away anything you'd like to ask, and I look forward to getting to know you and sharing in your journey with you!

Count me in as a cyber friend!
Hugs!

Welcome to the group Miss! We are excited to have you here. I am so sorry to hear that you lost 3 babies. I will tell you I have PCOS, it took me 9 years of trying before I had my daughter. It is my hopes with this surgery that I will be able to have more children in the future. My RNY surgery has already done wonders in many areas of my life and I hope that it will do the same for you. Never give up hope! I am so glad that you posted and introduced yourself, any time you would like to talk let me know. I would love to add you as a friend.

Welcome Miss. great place to find friends here.Top quality buddies! Sorry about your babies and hope this surgery helps with that issue too. Adoption is a wonderful thing too. I am also "in waiting" and some days am a bundle of nerves at this becoming reality. But I can't wait to find the real me that's been buried under the burden of this weight for so long. I'm ready to start living the rest of my life feeling great! Hope to hear from you lots about how things are going.

Hugs,
Rhonda
