Sunday thoughts
Good Morning everyone. I am sitting here considering what the day will bring. Loved the pinks in the sunrise this morning. Walked out from work, glad that I didn't have to deal with the frost covered windows this morning. For those who don't know, I live just 2 blocks from work and walk most of the time, I have to walk nearly that far from the employee parking lot any way.
Today, let's practice thankfulness. Take a few minutes today and each day to reflect on what you're thankful for. Remember the little things you take for granted, and think about how even difficult situations have helped you to grow.
I am thankful for so many things that I could be here all day writing the list. Big things that I am thankful for include my improving health, my friends and family, that I have a roof over my head and food for the table, warm fuzzy dogs that love me no matter what I do, for a steady job, the list goes on and on. I am also thankful for some of the stressful situations that I have faced over the years, they have shaped the person that I am today. I am also thankful for flannel sheets to keep my toes warm while I sleep, for the sun that rises each day, for the great friends that I have met here at OH.
What comes to mind when you think of thankfulness?
Have the best day possible. Hugs, Kathy

Good morning to you too Claudia. Thanks for the hugs. Congratulations on getting the surgery done and welcome to the loser's side of surgery. Give your family a big hug too. Of course I am your friend. Hope that your recovery continues to be smooth and uneventful.
I thought of something else that I am thankful for, to just bend over and tie my shoes and not struggle to reach the laces.
Have a great sunday Claudia. Hugs, Kathy

Good morning all!
Kathy, thank you for the very inspiring messages you have been posting to give my day a wonderful start.. It really does help one to have a better day, if they start it off with thier "gratitude" list. (recalling and appreiciating what they are thankful for).
There are so many things I am grateful for. Time would not allow me to list them all. So, I will share a few of them here, while embracing the rest in my mind and soul.
I am thankful that my husband survived his accident. While it is very challenging, I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. I am thankful for the stregnth and personal growth that took place within me following his accident. I'd have never thought I am as strong as I have been.I am thankful for my lovely new home, my daughters pregnancy, my grandchildren, my dogs, each new day that brings with it new opportunity for me to grow and improve and make a difference to others. I am thankful for OH offering me the opportunity to start this goup and meet all of you and hopefully make a positive difference in the journey you all are embarking on, as you all do for me.
Thats the basics in a nutshell.
Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday and I look forward to us all getting to know each other more and more and our blossoming friendships!
Hugs!

Lost 114 lbs. working on getting rid of a recent 10 lb regain...and WILL succeed!
Good morning to you all, too! It's amazingly warm out this morning in CT and I actually opened the windows and turned off the heat. Last night I tried on yet another pair of pants I couldn't wear for a long time pre-op and they were- like the rest- baggy. I'm amazed at how fast my body is changing and despite the challenges, I'm so glad I am finally realizing my dream of this journey.
As for being thankful, today is a perfect day to reflect on that. I've been divorced just under a year now and struggling severely financially. I'm barely able to pay my rent and cover normal shopping much less pay for my protein and lactaid milk and such. This morning, however, I have a nice break from all that worry thanks to President Obama and another 14 week extension of my unemployment benefits. This extension comes just in time to be able to make the holidays special in my first home. I am certainly thankful for that. My son lost his unemployment benefits because he enrolled in college and they felt he wasn't available for work. He appealed and he also just won and will be getting his benefits again. Another great reason to be thankful. Most of all, though, I am just thankful for all the support I have had through my journey and just how many people I have cheering me on. I am a very fortunate woman.
Hope you all have a truly wonderful day!

Hi Everybody,
I'm a little behind, but never too late to count your blessings. Great idea Kathy! I find that it's always the best way to deal with days when you're depressed and blue. We are so blessed, and even when we have troubles, there are always others out there dealing with much worse. I am thankful that God has led me to where I am today, that I have this site and the new friends here to help with my questions, anxieties, and excitement. Thankul that I have a job I like and work with people I enjoy. Thankul for my husband and children, and my big, loving, extended family, thankful for a roof over my head and food on our table. Thankful that I had parents who raised me with faith in God, so that I am never alone.Thankful that I have eyes to see, ears that can hear, and I can get out of my bed and stand on my own 2 feet, the mental ability to raise a family, hold a job, and live a"normal" life. Those are things many of us take for granted until something happens and we lose one or more of those abilites. Thankful that I live in a country where we are still so blessed, even with all our problems. Thankful that the world is still so full of beauty when we just take time to look for it. I too could go on and on! I hope you all have a great day tomorrow.
Hugs,
Rhonda
