Sleepy Saturday
Good Morning Buddies. (((((Hugs)))))) to everyone.
It is a drippy, sleep inducing day here in northern MN. Just home from work, slipped in between rain bursts. The dogs are even doing well with no long walk this morning. I plan to catch up on my sleep today. Got in 6000 steps between midnight and 8 am, mostly going back and forth from the desk to the patient rooms. My tootsies and complaining a little this am, partly from all the walking and partly from the weather. My heels ache more when it is raining.
Having a carnation instant breakfast with protein as a quick something to start the day, then off to bed for a few hours of shut eye.
Today, let's add some positive to our lives. Feed your brain good food, resolve to think on good, loving and positive thoughts rather than on critical, jealous, angry or bitter ones. Can you take on the positive challenge? I will do my best to work on this today.
Hugs, Kathy

Good morning Kathy and everyone!!
You're sending us the rain tomorrow, but right now it's sunny and beautiful in NW Ohio. Going to walk the dogs before I get cleaned up and packed for a fun-filled evening of dinner and dancing - hoping not to look TOO foolish as I try to dance away the pounds in formal attire. When I get home tomorrow (since Kathy will be sharing her rain and cold) I'm going to put a pot of chili on the stove, slip into some sweats, and watch some football. Hubby's out of town, but I LOVE my football!
Positive challenge? Sure thing - GAME ON! Should be easy today!
Have a fantastic weekend folks!

Have a blast dancing the pounds away Darlene. You are welcome to the rain, the cold, even though it is 37 degrees, doesn't really feel cold. Love the positive stuff. My hubby is really into football too, he will be watching football while I sleep. The dogs will divide, Gretta will keep me company while I sleep and Oscar will stay with the football, he knows the treats will be better watching football than sleeping. Take a photo of you in your formal, sharing is so important, hint, hint, hint. Let's support your activities today.
Enjoy the party. Hugs, Kathy

Good Morning! It's rainy here today. We have the remnants of that tropical storm coming through but it's also fairly warm so it's not that bad. I've been out and did my little walk. I'm going to go out again later. I figure time to step it up to two short walks and try to increase things from there.
I'm stuck on what to eat today. Having no appetite makes it a challenge because I keep looking at the same things I"ve been eating for 6 weeks now and nothing really appeals to me. I did eat a meatball the other night and was able to tolerate it but chicken is still not working for me. I did ok yesterday with half an egg for breakfast, tuna for lunch and an oz of lowfat mozerella for dinner. It's not that I don't like the foods I can eat, I'm just getting tired of them.
As for being positive, I am really working on that :) I know that the battle- no matter what the surgery does for me- still lies in me!

Good afternoon Fawnlori, you are right, the battle is the brain part, can't do surgery on our wants and desires. Take things one step at a time. Good to increase the activity as you can. Have you tried turkey chili? Good with a little shredded cheese on top. I prefer the no added beans kind myself, low fat, of course. I still have trouble with chicken too, only kind of chicken that goes down fairly well is the rotisserie kind from the supermarket and then the dark pieces of that. I found that the lump crab goes down great, just a touch of mayo added. For some reason, fish is starting to appeal to me more and more.
Keep up the positive attitude, it will get you far. Hugs, Kathy

Hey all. Sorry I am so late checking in today, but it has once again been a crazy day! Things have finally settled down a bit and here I am checking in on everyone.
We too, have the cool weather, and rain. Rain is expected to turn to snow tonight and keep snowing into tomorrow. Not sure how much to expect, but think I am better off not knowing, so I don't worry about it.
Today I am positive I should have had a nap, but didn't...lol
I'm in the challenge. Have been working hard each day to maintain this way of thinking. It really does help to make the day easier and better when we can stay upbeat.
Hugs to you all!
