Just a quick note to let you all know I am here for a little at a time. And to let you know what is going on.
I had an abscess on my hiney, It wasnt the dreaded hemoroids as I initally thought. I had it lanced 2 days ago, and it hurt like all hell.  I wanted to run out of the emergency room but they had me taped to the bed lol.
It is ok, no major problems with it, just alot of pain. It is tender now and dont hurt as bad, but they told me to move around all I could to help the draining along. Glad I had some Depends in the closet... Cause I sure cant reach to bandage lol.
My shoulder surgery has been rescheduled due to this also.
Still no surgery date, but all my paperwork is in their office and is ok, finally.
Maybe they will set me a date soon.
The switch of PCP's didnt go so well, the new doc didnt write me all the meds I needed last month, because it had been 2 weeks since I had gotten them, (understandable) so this meant I would be without meds for 2 weeks. I was ok with that i had a few extras accumulated, but now 2 weeks worth.  Ok now when I went to see her this week, she still only wrote me a prescription for somas... WTH!!! I need all my meds I told her, and she told me to come back in 2 weeks with all my old bottles.  HUMMMMPH!
I throw my bottles away and I explained this to her and the nurse. Still they insisted.
Soooooo. Yesterday I went back to the old PCP. I am not going without my meds any longer than I already have.
It is really sad that the new PCP and her nurse acted like I was a junkie or something, this is how I felt anyway. I am not going to tolerate that. I have an apt with her again in 2 weeks to check out the lanced abscess, and I am going to tell hew then how I feel, and that I was coming to her to make my life a little less stressful but if I am going to have to be without my meds, then it was a bad decision on my part, and I will no longer be coming to her.
Sounds fair right?
Well everyone have a great day,
Huggz,

Just Meee aka Linda

Welcome back Linda.  Ouch, that doesn't sound like any fun.  Glad things are getting better.  Hope you get the care provider thing straightened out.  Sounds a bit like the run around.  Take care of yourself, you need the healing.  Then on to shoulder surgery and wls.  Going to be a busy end of the year for you.  Hugs, Kathy

Hey Linda... it all sounds like a pain in the asteroids to me! ...sorry... couldn't resist.  I do hope the pain is gone soon and you are feeling better with that...then on to the shoulder. Every now and then you have to be a bother to the surgeons office to get them in gear setting a date, so if they let it drag out too long, get on the phone and bug em about it.
Let us know how you are doing when ever you have the chance. I miss having you around here girl!
Good luck in changing back to your old PCP. I too, do not appreciate it when a doctor treats me as if I have no common sense or don't know myself and my needs.
I don't know why they would need the old bottles, they should have been able to get all that info from your prior medical records and pcp.
Take good care!
Hugs!

Glad to see you're back, Linda.  Not to defend your new PCP, but there are a lot of people who "doctor hop" in order to get prescription drugs that another doctor discontinued, so they are probably just trying to avoid that possibility.  Another thing, insurance won't allow a pharmacy to fill a prescription too often, because they don't want someone filling a prescription and sharing it with someone else.  They wouldn't want to lose any money, you know! LOL

Did you sign anything for your records to be transferred?  If not, ask them for the release form so that they can get those records to see for themselves that you're not a prescription med. junkie. LOL

Good luck and welcome back.  (oh, and sorry to hear about the abscess- yuck!)

Some people might not support my WLS decision.
Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.
