i need to lose30 lb
Best thing is to start following the new habits that you will need for after surgery. Get in at least 64 ounces of no coalorie liquids a day, do not drink fluids with your meals. Make those meals low carb, low fat and high protein. Cut your meat into tiny bits, chew each one at least 20 times before swallowing, Place utensils down between bites. Stop the soda, cvaffiene and smoking habits if you have not yet. And most important, start an exercise program, even walking to rev up your metabolish.
Start telling yourself "I can do this", "I am worth it" and any other mantras that will help you to make a change. If you find yourself feeding an emotion, consider journalling about it, distract yourself with a non food activity. Seek out the support of someone to talk to if needed.
Always come here to share your thoughts, we can offer a strong shoulder of support, I am water proof if tears fall.
You talk about bringing your sugars down, are you diabetic? If so what are you doing/taking to control the bloodsugars? Any other issues that need dealing with before surgery??
Hugs, Kathy

How long do you have???
I think I had to lose 20 or something.. I went to sugar free everything, no carbs at all, pushed tons of water, high protein,( lean white meat chicken, peanut butter with apples, all sorts of things) and I excersised a lot! Swimmin is great, its easy and very productive. the last three days I was on all clear liquid diet... again sugar free... Broths are good, jello, popscicles.
MY mom patrece is a really good one in this area... figured id give some input. Good luck!! You CAN do it!!!!

Okay lady... are ya ready to do this? YES!!! First thing is first. Relax, because stress can contribute to weight gain and impair weight loss to a degree. So lets get you feeling more at ease. .. we are here to help you through this next 2 months of successful weight loss. You are not doing it alone, we have either been or will be where you are and will be with you hand in hand through this time.
The advice the others gave is very good. So glad they all contributed.. 5 very small high protein meals, from lean sources can be very helpful. The low carb liquid meal replacements can definately be a stand in for a couple of these. For the others, have like 2 oz of meat, then top off with veggies, avoiding the higher carb ones. Avoid potato and any whites like rice, sugar, flour, breads, corn starch, etc. If you must have bread whole grain only. Salads are good, you can eat quite a bit, with very few calories, but stay away from dressings. I loved salad with baby spinach in it. Then I would squeeze the juice from an orange quarter on it for dressing, and use a touch of salt and some pepper. Or use just a small amount of low carb dressing. (of course these are all only suggestions). The walking or other activity will be important in helping you accelerate the loss. And as said above... drink lots and lots of water, even flavored water (sugar free no carb no calorie). Don't drink soda at all. Avoid caffienne as it causes some water retention as it can cause dehydration so your body starts to store fluids to compensate.
