Super Saturday

What is so super about today?  Everything.

It is the last Saturday in October, Halloween, time to adjust the clocks back again at bedtime tonight (extra hour of sleep), the seasons changed again last night.  Looked out the window before I left work, there is a blanket of snow on the lawns.  The streets and sidewalks are just wet.  I watched Oscar and Gretta paw at the snow this morning as they sprinted around in circles on the front lawn.

What goals did you set for yourself for this last week?  How did you do with accomplishing the goals?  How do you feel about your level of success?  What burning question is nagging at your thoughts?  What is one thing that you plan to do for yourself today?  How are you dealing with the treats of the season?  Are you ready for winter?

Wow, that's a lot to think about.  Well everyone, share your thoughts.

That is a lot to think about...especially since I have only been awake for 1/2 hr!
I will pick a couple of the easy ones to reply to for now..
Am I ready for winter? NO WAY!
How am I dealing with the treats of the season? Just fine. Keep em kinda out of sight, and know it is in my best interest to "just say no".
Nagging question: Why won't that doggone scale move already!?
Have a great days rest. Talk to you later when you are up and about!
Hugs,
Patrece

Guess you can tell that I've been awake.  It is a lot to think about.  I am not ready for winter.  Dealing with the treats just fine, they have no temptation this year.  Nagging question: where are all of the buggy members, not seeing them here posting.

Going to take Oscar and Gretta out for a walk, let's see how long this lasts in 34 degree weather.  Will they get cold or will I?  The answer when I get back.

OK, I confess, I need a fur coat like the dogs.  They had a blast, my cheeks got cold quickly.  The heavier coat helped the rest of me stay toasty warm.

Yup and get laughed at.  34 is still mild.  It will get to 0 to -20 degrees closer to the new year and into Feb.  I did put on my ear muffs to protect them.  I have a face mask that I don't wear till the windchill gets closer to 0.  It covers from just below my eyes to my neck with smallholes under the nose/mouth area.

Wow!
Those r a lot of questions...but I'll give it a go...
My goal this week is to get in my 64 ounces of fluid and some protein.  Doing pretty well.  On Wednesday can move to "full liquids" rather than clear.  Can't wait.
Burning question right now.....what did everyone eat with "full liquids"?
Treats no issue right now..
Winter has not even been on the fore front of my mind but I did have my father get my snowblower out and ready while my parents r visiting.

Keep the faith

For full liquid diet, basically anything that turns to a liquid in your mouth or is already liquid when you put it in. Soup broths, yougurt with no fruit chunks, sugar free carnation instant breakfasts,,, etc. Let me do some looking and will get back and post some more for you.

·         Anything from your clear liquid diet

·         Sugar free puddings

·         Low fat / light smooth yogurt (no fruit pieces)

·         Soup broth. It is recommended you do not use commercially prepared soups

·         Fat free / sugar free frozen yogurt

·         Milk (1% or skim)

·         No sugar added carnation instant breakfast

·         Protein drinks that are no sugar added or very low in carbohydrates

·         Thinned out unsweetened applesauce
Any liquid you cannot see through is considered full liquid, but you must be sure that it is sugar free and ideally you want to focus on items that contain good protein content.
