Bariatric Buddy
PreOP Apt / What to expect?
The pre-op appointment is to finalize things, check to make sure that you are prepared for surgery, discuss any issues. Anesthesthetist will look into your throat, determine what is best for you, ask about loose teeth, removable oral prosthesis, partials. Discuss risks, etc.
The MD will also discuss risks, benefits. Not an appointment to get all worked up about. Routine stuff.

Yep...You have nothing to worry about at this one. Its just what Katy said. The anesthesiologist will also want family history, and yours on reaction to anesthesia, at least mine did.
Take great care, and hang in there!

Lost 114 lbs. working on getting rid of a recent 10 lb regain...and WILL succeed!
These lovely ladies are right...it is a very easy appointment. They will want to know if you have any questions for them, if you have had anesthesia before and how did your body react to it, if you have any swallowing problems. This is a chance for them to make sure they have dotted all their i's and crossed all their t's. It's also a chance for you to get any questions cleared up, so if you have any, make a list and take it with you. That's what I did cuz I was afraid I would be too nervous to remember them all.
Take a deep breath and relax....
Sending hugs your way!
