Thinking Thursday

Good Morning to all the bariatric buddies.  I was thinking, (wow, that will get me in trouble), now what was I thinking of writing?  Oh, yes.  The world is still here, nothing much happened during my watch last night.  No crisis, just moment to moment usual stuff.

Where has the time gone, a short 7 weeks ago today was my new birthday, surgery day.  I find myself in awe of the changes that have been happening.  Quickly for some, snail pace for others.  I thought back to the response I wrote for littled's thread the other day.  About the wine glass.  Everything will balance out best if mental health is strong and stable.  How and what we think controls so many factors of our lives.  I think we each need to make a conscience decision to do things that are in our best interests.  Today I choose to eat quality high protein foods and take my supplements as directed.  Today I choose to get off the couch and enjoy my time at the gym.  Today I will drink my 64 plus ounces of fluid.  Today I will be good to myself.  Today I will spend a few minutes enjoying the feel of the dogs coats as I pet them.  Today I will...... you fill in your own answer to what you will do for yourself today.  Post your own today statements to share with the rest of us.  Go ahead and just start with one thing, it will snowball into many good things.

Catch up with everyone later after I sleep.  Be good to yourselves and share your today statements.  Hugs, Kathy

Today as I work on the rental units, I will take more time to get in my liquids. (get so wrapped up I don't get enough of these in during that time). Today I ate my yogurt for breakfast within 15 minutes of waking up. (can struggle to remember to eat breakfast when not hungry, but have been doing very well with this the last several months.) Today I will take a moment to recognize all of my blessings and be truly grateful for them. Today I will face any challenges with a positive and powerful attitude.

Have a great day all.
Hugs, Patrece

Good morning, all!

Today, I will take all of my supplements, something I have not been doing.  I will do my best to get my 64 ounces of fluids in.  I will go for a walk, rain or shine.

Today I will not beat myself up for not being perfect.

This is a great post!

Today ...um at this time of night it is "yesterday"...I worked harder to journal food and fluids for preop.  I chose to get in some exercise.  I began journaling my triggers....what it is/where I am/what my thoughts are...it worked great at the grocery store.

I wanted to post a poem:

One Ship drives East,
And one drives West,
by the self same wind that blows;

It's the set of the sails,
And not the gales,
Which determines the way it goes.

Interesting.  The poem gets me to thinking and thinking after working a night shift is shakey at best.

I like the plans you have made.  Just reaffirm them each day.  Yesterday afternoon, I was tired, thought about skipping the exercise.  The couch looked inviting, I had plans the rest of the evening and could not just postpone the exercise till later.  I did put on my shoes, still thought about just putting my feet up on the sofa.  Walked out the door, heading to the gym with the intention of getting in at least 10 minutes on the treadmill.  Within a few minutes of walking, I got my burst of whatever it is that makes me feel good when I am exercising.  Got the whole 30 minutes in on the treadmill and some upper body strengthening.  I kept thinking about this thread I started Thursday morning.  Thursday, I did get in the exercise, protein, water, supplements.  Feels good to be good to my body.
