Bad night at work

I made muffins for the patients last night. Well they were for breakfast this morning. I ate three of them. They were really little but still that's a lot. I'm very dissappointed in myself and I'm depressed cuz I feel like I'll never even make it to 30 pounds lost!

Okay sweet Sukie! Lesson one here. DO NOT BEAT YOURSELF UP! You made a bad choice, you acknowledged it, use it as a tool to help you choose better next time. Problem with weight loss surgery is that it is only on the body...not the head. We have lots of work to do there to be successful in this journey. ALL of us do.
Now.. if you have a baby that is learning to walk and he falls down... what do you say to him? Whoooopps... come on honey, try again. You are kind and forgiving and encouraging to him. Give yourself the same love and gentleness. You fell down.. now pick yourself up, dust off, and learn from it. You just have a lot of mind work to do yet, as do we all. Early on I had to avoid trigger foods. Now I can almost always refuse them without struggle. Key words here.. almost always. It will get easier. But you do have to make yourself avouid these things. Its hard...really really hard! Especially being banded. With rny, you would have dumped so bad, you'd have never wanted one again..lol.
So.. my words to you here...
"whoops honey, let me give you a hand to help you up...and lets try again!" As long as we continue to pick ourselves up.. we are never failing. Its when we give up that there's trouble.
Great big hugs and lots of love coming at you! You can do this! YOU CAN!

Lost 114 lbs. working on getting rid of a recent 10 lb regain...and WILL succeed!

Try a really tasty piece of gum while cooking for the residents.  Then put the food out of sight until they are there for breakfast.  I would have had a hard time resisting the muffins too.  Although after my RNY, they just don't have the appeal they once did.  I am finding it easier to avoid the bakery section at the grocery store too.  I just grab a loaf of my husbands favorite bread and I am "out of there".  I do try to not go shopping during the early morning hours when the bakery scents are the strongest.  Doughnuts used to be a trigger of mine.  Not any longer.

Now is the time to be mentally kind to yourself.  It is OK to slip up.  Just like Patrece said, grab ahold of something and start over in being good to yourself, take those first baby steps holding on for support.  We are here to be that support.
