Lets share ways we all get in activity and exercise. It may help all of us gain new ideas on how to keep moving.

Walking is my primary exercise. Then painting..lol. When my grandkids are over, I love to play with them.. and believe you me..that definately counts! hehehe
I plan to get back to curves starting tomorrow, 2 to 3 times a week. That ought to shake things up a bit.

Who's next?

Oh yes... by the way, would love to see more of you sharing your accomplishments, even small ones in the exercise thread above!

Walking outdoors as long as the weather is good.  Once the ground gets slippery, I will be done with outdoor walking.  Fell on the ice too many times last winter.  I can not afford to break any bones, my pride was totally shattered, I always look to see if anyone was watching.  Then most of my falls happen in front of senior apartment complex, I am sure there was a set of eyes or two watching.  I take the dogs along.  They love the fresh air.

Going to anytime fitness (2 blocks from home) walking on the treadmill or trying the elliptical machine for 30-40 minutes.  Alternating upper body and lower body strengthening on alternate days.  If I need to get more steps in, I am trying to get in at least 10,000 a day, I go to the mall or one of the larger stores and walk the perimeter.

I keep my pedometer on every day and take advantage of it to track my steps.  I have found that I get at least 2000 steps in during a typical night shift at work.  I post on the exercise thread most days.  Just step counts the last few days.  I will get on there more as I can.

What do you listen to or watch while exercising?  Nice to know different tastes.  Right now I have a CD by a MN group called Tonic sol fa in my CD player.  This is a quartet that sings acapella.  Check out their site for a sample.  I have been to 2 of their concerts.  They are good.  I increase the speed during the peppy tunes and back off slightly during the mellow ones.
I also have an electronic book reader that I can connect my headphones to and listen to books.

I have and ipod, haven't figured out how to put any music on it.  Anyone willing to teach a gal how to add songs?

Well its soccer season so I get to walk 3 miles around the sports center 3 tomes a week listening to my Ipod, then I have my treadmill and my ellipical trainer. Next month they will re-open the indoor pool (its been closed for repainting) and I will get to start back at my aquacize class 3 days a week, just in time for soccer season to be done with. I also love to work out with my WII EA Active man that really makes me sweat!! Once we get back on our feet financially I will be able to go back to the gym.
