I know that in the past 6 to 8 weeks we have had many of you having your wls procedures. I am wondering how all of you are doing? Are you struggling with any aspects of it? How much weight loss have you experienced so far? How can we support and assist you in this early period, that can be tough to adjust to? Do you have any experiences or adivice you'd like to share with others who will be having surgery in the near future?

Share your journey with us, let us help you along, as you also help others along in it.
Hugs to all.

I'm two weeks and three days out!  It has gone really smoothly.  My DH says that's because I'm really following EXACTLY what they told me to do.  I've done really well so far getting my protein and my water in every day.  My weight is going down a bit already.  Just a couple days ago I got to start the softer foods - tuna salad, egg salad, cooked veggies, tender meats, etc.   I'm finding cottage cheese is my friend!

I hope the continuing weeks are as problem-free as these have been.  I went back to work yesterday - two short days and then the weekend!!

I'm down 120 pounds - thanks to RNY!  Working on the next 25.  Then I'll tackle more...

Nmmmmm cottage cheese, what is better.  I may change my mind eventually, don't see that happening in the near future.  I tried making egg salad with greek protein instead of mayo.  It is different, but has the dab of extra protein.  I think I may do a half greek yogurt/half mayo mixture to more equal the usual taste.  Good job on your progress.  Keep it up.  I also have become a fan of refried beans.  Take care Mary.  Hugs, Kathy

How on earth can they have you back at work in just over 2 weeks.. my goodness, be careful!  Usually it is 6 weeks after surgery before returning to work. Please don't push yourself too hard okay?
Sounds like you are doing great in the compliance dept. Keep up the good work! How much have you lost so far?
I too hope your journey stays as smooth as it has been so far! Take care, and thanks for sharing your progress!
Hugs!

I was only out for 3 weeks myself....it sounds like you guys are doing GREAT! I like cottage cheese, too. I never did before but those Breakstone's doubles with the fruit are really great when I can't get denser foods down.

Keep up the great work guys!!!!

Cottage cheese is still my best friend in my nutrition dept. I LOVE it and never ever seem to tire of it. When I had fresh tomatoes from my plants I used to love to have 1/2 cip of cottage cheese along with 2 very thick tomato slices for lunch. But, unfortunately fresh tomato season is gone.. I will miss them so much! (grieving my loss here..lol)
I have never tried it with fruit. Maybe I'll have to give that a try one of these days.
Hugs all! Keep up the good work!

Hi, buddies.  I had my RNY 10/8.  Very successful surgery; but, for some reason I didn't come out of the anesthesia all the way until I was released 10/12.  Then, they wanted me to pee before they would send me home and I couldn't but the surgeon sent me home about 8:30 p.m. So, I've been home for 5 days so far.  I lost 6-8 # before surgery and since then about another 9#.  17# so far.  I have 52# to meet my doctor's goal.

Other than being sleepy a lot (much better the last 2-3 days), I'm doing really well.  Wishing you all the best, and look forward to seeing all of you on the losers bench.  So far, the hardest part of recovery is scheduling meds, meals and beverages, but it's getting easier.  Blessings! Katie

It says 12# but is really 17#.  Thought it was saved but maybe not?

Every now and then I have to enter the weight change twice to get oit to take.. not sure why that is, just a fluke I guess. Try entering your new weight, then refreshing the page, it should show the change then.
