Top of the day to you

Good Morning everyone.  How are you on this snowy Friday.  I am tired at this time.  Work called yesterday afternoon and my second shift back to work, was a 14 hour shift.  Busy till about 4 am, then I felt like I needed a pillow.  Went on to the next task and made it through.  I am here just for a few minutes before finding my pillow for some pillow talk.  There are a few large snowflakes falling at this time.  Doesn't look like the sun will make an appearance at this time.  Selmer didn't like the turkey lunch meat I fed him last night.  Better now.

I have a case of my mouth feels so dry.  I did get at least 96 ounces of fluid in during the 14 hour shift.  Of course, I did talk part of that time too.  Getting ready to make some protein enriched malt-o-meal for breakfast.

Take care everyone, I will check back later after a good long sleep.  Be good to someone else and yourself today.  Hugs, Kathy

Morning Kathy. I too am checking in quickly this morning, before getting rooling with my day. Back to work at the duplex for me.
Get lots of rest and try to drink more. Even tho you took in a lot of liquids, you worked a long shift, and of course our bodies do not absorb as well as they once did. That extra long shift is an awful lot for you to be doing just returning to work. Please be careful. Take care of yourself first, or you will be out of commission for everyone else too. Just concerned.  The snow stuff sounds blah to me. I am never ready for winter weather.

Everyone else...have a wonderful day, and know that even tho I am not going to be able to check bac****il this evening, you are all always in my thoughts and heart! Take good care of YOU today.

Hugs

Morning! SNOW?! You can keep it ALL up there with you!  lol
Have a good talk with that pillow Kathy, you sure do need that after a long shift like that.
I must say, I do miss being able to work.  Even though I work harder at home taking care of my Dad, than I ever did working the floor.  I do miss being able to get away from the house, and do the thing I love.  Don't get me wrong, I love my Dad and enjoy being able to take care of him, and would do it no matter what.  I just love being a nurse as well!  I am still looking for a job to be able to work 1-2 days a week, still no luck with finding an opening.  The jobs for nurses are scarce.
Have a good day everyone, I will be putting up a fence in the yard to keep all of my 5 dogs contained while they are outside and when we have company.
hugs
Charlotte

It has been cold for two weeks in Minnesota.  I'm already sick of winter and it isn't even November yet... it will be a LONG one at this rate!

Take it easy, Kathy.  I'm at a desk job, but I was really tired after 8 hours yesterday!

Charlotte.. I hear ya. In lots of ways I am enjoying all my hard work painting and all, s I know the caregiver doldrums. I believe 100% that you are glad to be able to do it...but round the clock does get tiring, and makes it hard to feel alive after a while.
I have never heard of a shortage of nursing jobs, just nurses. Must be a really small town you are in huh?
Have you considered running an ad in the paper to provide private duty home care? But then again, it will be a lot like doing what you are doing now caring for your father.
My heart is with you. You are a great daughter! Bless your heart Charlotte!
