Hi Everyone :)
Hey there everyone! I know I've been MIA but I've been fighting one bad cold after another lately. Right now I have a sinus infection along with strep throat, oh what fun. I have my good days and bad days with my new pouch. I've only lost 26.7 pounds total so far, but my doctor seems to think I'm doing well. There are days when I crave things I know I should try to stay away from like chocolate or cookies. My philosophy is this...I can eat so few calories a day that I refuse to "spend" those calories on fat free gruel a.k.a. toxic waste. I'm trying to focus on lean meats, vegatables, whole grains and fruits and low fat dairy. When I want a bit of butter I have real butter that actually melts when I put it on my toast. When I want cheese I have low fat but not fat free cheese. Am I doing this right? Who knows, but I refuse to eat crap lol.
I hope you all are doing well! Hopefully I can pop back in more often now that I'm starting to feel a bit better.
Love u guys!

SUKIE!!! So great to hear from you. I sent you a PM the other day, as I was becoming concerned about you, you have been gone so long it seems. Sorry you have been so ill. I hope once you kick this current round, thats it for a very very long time! Make sure you take your vitamins!
You had the lap band, so your weight loss is good. It just doesn't come off as quickly with the band as it does with these malabsorptive procedures. But the great thing is, you will continue to lose with the help of your band, long after us RNY'ers stop losing. It the end it evens out.
Your philosophy is a great one! Mine , especially early out was the same. Thje only thing going in there had better be pouch (tiny tummy) worthy. I too use real butter when I want butter, but in moderation and it is not very often. I use 2% cheese, not fat free. Now, when it comes to milk I use whole, but thats because I drink so little of it, if I bought milk ust for me it would go bad, so I just use a touch of my husbands whole milk. Your attitude is good. Why go through this surgery, just to undo all of its good by eating the junk? You are doing great! Keep up the good work, and plkease stay in touch more often!
Love you! Hugs!

Lost 114 lbs. working on getting rid of a recent 10 lb regain...and WILL succeed!
Sukie (((((Hugs))))), I have been wondering about you girlfriend. Thanks for popping back out of the woodwork. Sorry you have been battling the bugs. Same as Patrece said, keep up on the vitamins and hand washing. I too refuse to put junk in the new pouch. I am finding new uses for greek yogurt each week. Substituted it for sour cream, added pureed fruit for fresh yogurt flavor, even made mock tarter sauce out of it last night. The stuff has 20 gms protein per 8 oz. serving. Of course can't eat 8 ounces at once, but every little bit helps.
