Hi everybody.  It's been a bit since I've posted.  My recuperation could be better and I haven't felt great, but I'm hanging in there.

I'm down 26.4 lb. since the surgery on the 30th.  I'm struggling with protein and supplements but it's getting better.  I'll be very glad come Tuesday when I can start on pureed foods.  I'm really looking forward to a scrambled egg.

I'm mostly just still sore.  All the things I planned on having post-op all taste horrible now so getting any sort of nurishment has been a real challenge.  I was also told not to try to exercise if I felt woozy which I have since the surgery.  I have vertigo and it seems like it has gotten worse.  Some days are better than others but I could be doing better with my walking.

Anyway, just wanted to check in.

Hi Colleen, Welcome back and welcome to the loser's bench.  Wish you were feeling better.  Are you getting in your fluids?  Dehydration can cause dizziness.  We are warned that our tastes will change, guess yours did big time.  Things will get better each day.  Take things as they go and take good care of yourself.  I have been thinking of you, glad you stopped by to post a thought.  I'm headed back to work this Wed.  Been awhile, the 6 seeks has slipped by so quickly.  Take care, hugs, Kathy

Hey Colleen! You are doing awesome on the weight loss!!!! Congrats to you! I am sorry to hear you aren't feeling too well. I have a feeling a lot of it has to do with not getting in enough liquids and food (protein). One way to get more protein in is to mix an unflavored or vanilla protein in to your crystal light if you drink it, then sip sip sip it all day long. This is how I had to do it. If worse comes to worse get in some sugar free carnation instant breakfasts. They will help with all around nutrition and protein too.
Keep working at things, you'll get to where it gets easier to keep up with your supplements and meals.
Won't be long now and you'll be on the pureed. Cottage cheese is a great food for that stage, as is yogurt. Refried beans (fat free) are also very good at that stage and very high in protein.

Lean on us when you need to! We are here for you!
Hugs!
