On the Mend - Feeling Good

Hello buddies!

I'm sorry to have been MIA for so long.  I'm recovering well, but I haven't been up to sitting at the computer for much more than a few minutes at a time - it's too hard on my tailbone!

My mom is taking excellent care of me.  She makes me breakfast, lunch, and dinner and reminds me to take my supplements and to drink my protein shakes.  I can't say I'm doing real well with the last part.  I just get so full on the shakes that I feel miserable.  There have been days when I've gotten in two, for a total of 50mgs of protein, and others when I've only managed one.  I know it's important for me to get them in, and I'm going to work harder on it.

I am going to the doctor on Thursday to get my staples out and will weigh for the first time since right before my surgery.  I can feel that I have lost weight, but I am anxious to find out how much.

Mom and I ventured out into the world today!  It was a short trip - about 45 mins. walking around Hobby Lobby - but it was nice to get out.  I couldn't believe how tired I got in that short amount of time.  Helped me to understand why I was given 6 weeks to recover before returning to work!

As of now, I will be going back to my life this weekend.  Neither my husband nor my mom want me to go until I am truly ready, but I feel bad about how much my husband has been carrying without me over the past 8 days.  The kids have been driving him nuts and he is stressed out.  I feel like I need to get back to serving as the buffer between him and then!

Well, I am off to put on my PJ's and relax in a big comfy recliner!  I hope all is well with all of you and I'll be back around in a day to two.  Take care!

Kim, so good to hear from you, missed you.  Take your time healing, I learned the hard way.  Trying so much so early out.  Keep sipping, if you have the TV on, take a sip with every commercial, amazing how many there are, the shakes will just be disappearing.

Take care of yourself and get your rest.  Hugs, Kathy

Hey  ehy lady! I missed having you around. Was just wondering earlier when we would hear from you.
So glad all is well and you had a nice but short outting today. Even 45 minutes was probably a bit much this early. My first outting was to walmart a week out. I had to drive 25 minutes there and 25 minutes back and spent about 45 minutes there. Had to walk from one end to the other to get all I needed. Bout killed me..lol Set me back for a couple of days with increased pain. Everyone gave me heck for it, but hubby can't drive or go for me, so what was I to do? Had to go to get dog food. Had the employee assist me with loading it into the cart and car, as we get the BIG bags.

Please don't let the kids wear you out too much or run your tail off. Make sure they know you must rest and recover.
The protein, split into 1/2 servings and space em out through out the day.sip em slowly. Get em in tho, you need it to heal and to maintain muscle tissue!
Hugs!
