well good morning to u one and all.  i stayed up till 3 last night and slept till 9.  my husband is gone to the va for a doc appointment. he gets to meet his new primary doctor. they always have him with a doc instead of a pa (well once they put with a pa and he suffled him off to this new doc) because he has sooooooooooooo many medical problems due to his lung transplant and all the medication he is on (27 per day).  i hope this is a great doc with compassion.  first thing he did was cut back on his pain meds, not good!!!!!!!  he is in pain all the time.
when he gets home i want some malt o meal. i will put a little unflavored whey isolate protein powder in it.  will get about 12 grams of protein. not as much as my yogurt concoction, but i am hungry for something warm.  how about all u guys?  what do u plan on eating?  what about supper?  i finally got pecan crusted trout and we are having that for supper with some multigrain pasta. i will have about 3 pennes. it has extra protein  in it also.
what do u have planned for today?  i am going to wash some dishes and put the lamps together. i have to be careful how much i do and my bending over and stuff.
take care one and all.  would love to hear from u. hugs, vick

Morning Vick, getting to be a night owl now?  I had part of a toddler serving of malt-o meal this am, made with powdered milk in the water and just a dab of margarine.  Tasted good.  Used a much larger bowl to cook it in the microwave.  Still bubbles up a lot, but did not bubble over.  Whew, no major microwave cleaning at the moment.  Tasted good, ate in small bites, just what stuck to the spoon when I dipped it in the bowl.  Full quickly, pureed 1 peach slick and ate part of that too.  I will get more protein in later.  Satisfied for the time being, not over full, just satisfied.  Waiting for Dennis to rise and shine, then taking the critters out.  Started putting my benefiber in my water now that I am not doing the shakes.  The stuff really does just disappear, flavored with part of a packet of crystal light, good.

I had more aches below my left incisions last evening and during the night.  Guess walking around both lakes was a bit much.  I am living and learning.  The floor is much harder to reach today, guess I will just have to give up and follow directions.  Who would have thought that the directions would be right????

Hope your husband and his new pcp see eye to eye and get him in the best shape he can be in.

For the rest of the day, leftover meatloaf and yam and not sure what else yet.  Thinking some cottage cheese and a peach slice sounds good.  Maybe greek yogurt and a peach slice too.  I think I am going to freeze a few slices from the can to blend into a protein shake later.

Have a great day.  It's FRIDAY ! ! !  Hugs, Kathy

kathy, good morning to you. sounds like u are doing great on your pureed diet.  u have imagination and that will serve u well.  try to take it easy and not do to much. yes u need to walk, but don't overdo it with bending and walking to much and be real careful about the lifting.  i speak from experience.  i really screwed the pooch by doing too much.  i am paying for it now.  got some new lamps in,  need to put them together, i can do that much if my husband helps me get them out of the box. then i need to fold some clothes.  i just have to be careful pulling on stuff and bending over. pretty boring when folding clothes is a highlight of your day. lol
by the way, i went to a meeting yesterday. people didn't recognize me after all the weight loss. good for my ego, i got sooooooooo many compliments.  i had bought some flare leg sweats at walmart and they fit, not real bulky. i did look good if i say so myself.  ha
well take care of yourself. hugs, vick

Great, you got to the meeting and a wow, that you needed to reintroduce yourself, as the new and improved Vick.  I get to fold laundry too, then wait for hubby to carry the basket up the stairs.  So much happier having small things I can do.

I think part of my pain last eve/night was gas bubbles, of all things.   I have my new jeans on today, helps my outlook to have something that fits.

Morning, or should I say good evening..ha ha this is the first that I have gotten to my trusty computer today.  I actually slept in until 11:30 after getting the boys off to school.
I am back on liquids for a few days in hopes that my ulcer will settle down a bit.  I tried the carnation instant breakfast, sugar free ones.  I was a little hesitant on it, but it is not bad.  I tried the chocolate one, only thing the store had in sugar free, not a big fan of chocolate milk stuff.  But was good.
My pouch still hurts some today, been fighting nausea all day since getting up.  I have to call my doctor on Monday to let them know how I am doing with the meds, if they are helping any.  If not, it will be off to Denver to be my doc.
Hope everyone had a good day.

charlotte, good luck to you on the ulcer. i hope the meds work so you won't have to go to denver.  i know what it is like to have a long distant doctor relationship.  it is not easy.  maybe you will become a carnation instant breakfast fan and you can buy stock in the company. lol  hugs, vick

I should think about investing in the company, so should Kathy! I will stay on it until my pouch gets done hurting... how ever long that might be.  I too hope I wont have to go over to Denver!  It is such a long trip, 4 hours away, over the mountains... throught the woods to the doctors house..lol
I so hope the meds work.
