I HAVE A DATE!! (A Surgery Date that is....)
Hello Bariatric Buddies!
I received my surgery date today...September 28, 2009. I think the nurse's ears are ringing, because I was screaming with excitement, when she gave me the news. My pre-op class is scheduled for Sept. 21, 2009. Thank you all for being here. Just knowing that there are others who know what I am going thru and feeling gives a lot of comfort. Right now I'm very excited, but every hour it seems that I have a different emotion from afraid to apprehensive to extremely happy. Hopefully and prayerfully, I can't wait until I can throw away these meds

congratulations on your date and your joy. time will fly and before u know it, it will be time to have your surgery. things to take to the hospital. lip balm (none with petroleum jelly), pillow (can also be used on ride home to hold under the seat belt and to help keep jarring shakes from hurting too bad), a gripper or reacher, good houseshoes (you will be walking a lot), sleeveless men's t shirts(called wife beaters, use under the binder and makes it more comfortable, make sure you prewash), i will think of other stuff later. vick

Patrece,
Having faith is definitely the plan. It's amazing how prayers have already been answered. I just turned in all paperwork on 9/1/09 and prayed for a September date. Even though my surgeon's office said it could be up to 4 weeks to get approved. It took less than a week! Dr. Kuldeep Singh is my surgeon and I already love him. I'm having surgery at St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, MD and it's a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence. The bible says, ask for the desires of your heart, so I'm praying an uneventful and successful surgery, no pain and quick recovery. I know some nay-sayers may say that some of this may be unrealistic, but prayer and the power of the mind can do some miraculous things.
Thanks for having me,
Rita
