I need some advice please

On Tuesday I will be four weeks out.  I am not seeing the results I thought I would.  I watch other people dropping weight almost daily and I have gone 9 days without losing a lb. .  I am following all of my doctor's rules so I am extremely frustrated that it all seems to be for nothing (much).  Can anyone give me something different to do?  My Dr. said you see the most results in the first six months and 1 of mine is almost over.

Please help!

kimberly, 42 lbs is great!!!!!  even 20 lbs in a month is great.  don't worry about this short stall. just make sure u are getting in all your liquids and proteins, this will help a lot. also eat as much as u can that ur doctor allows.  when we don't eat enough, we go into starvation mode and our body doesn't lose weight. so even though we tend to think that if we don't eat we will lose more weight that is not true.  i know u are very limited on what and how much u can eat now, just don't try and cut back on purpose to lose weight faster.  remember drink and proteins, very important. good luck to u. vick

Thanks Vickie,
I know 42lbs is a big # but most of it was lost pre surgery.  I will continue to try my hardest everyday

I know just exactly what you are feeling. Take a nice deep breath and let out a sigh of relief. I hit a plateau for 2 1/2 weeks after 11 days post op! I was livid! But some of us lose this way. You will start losing again, don't worry. And you have lost wonderful for the short time post-op you are. You are gonna lose like me I bet. Lose lose lose.. stall stall stall... but when the loss starts again, it will be quickly. I remember posting a similare questions, in tears when it happended to me the first time. I was like "I was only 11 days out and stalled and have stayed stalled out for 2 1/2 weeks".
Your body is adjusting to all of the rapid changes. It needs to figure out whats going on. One way to get the scale moving again, is to increase your protein, by like one drink a day, and change up your exercise routine a little bit. Thjis will usually get it going again. But please rest assured...you will start losing again, and you will lose well. I promise. Take it from someone who lost the same way.

Hugs and love to you. I promise you will do fine. It will start again and it'll come off quickly when you do.

No experience to add my two cents.  I am waiting for the extra fluid weight from surgery to shift on out.  I was up 15# when I left the hospital, still up 12#.

Moral support is what I offer.  Keep up the good work, it will happen, when I ask the same question, you can give me sound advice.

Hugs, Kathy

AWESOME!!! I am thrilled for you! CONGRATS! Told you it weould move! Now, just do yourself a huge favor, and accept now, that this may be your style of losing throughout. That is how it is and has been for me... lose lose lose...stalllllllll...loseeeeeee... etc. Some of us just lose in strange cycles, and it is more common than you may think.
Hugs and Congrats! Keep us posted on your progress!
