Counting down to my surgery on september 17.  Been reading posts from some who had surgery yesturday and wondering how they are doing.  Things are moving along for me.  I have been doing really well with working out and not so bad with eating.  I start the protein drinks on the 7th but have been doing them every other day or so lately.  I did fall off the wagon at Culvers(a fast food place with wonderful frozen custard) but I have stayed away from the Minnesota state fair only because I know I couldn't pass up the temptation of fried whatever on a stick.  Deep fried anything is my biggest weakness.  I became a great aunt for 18th time last week and in the next few weeks I will be a great great aunt for the7th time.  I want to be able to participate in water fights and play soccer and volleyball with all of them.  I want to see them all as well as my own future grandkids(though the thought of my son as a parent is pretty scary) graduate from college and get married and all that.  I keep remembering these things and it is a little easier to eat healthy and drag my behind to the gym.

Not long now! I feel the same about fried foods. Our church festival is this weekend and my mouth salivates just thinking about elephant ears!!! yum, yum. I want just a bite or two, but I can only imagine what it would do to me. SO I am planning to pack a sugar free pudding with me to help fight temptation, but it will be so hard. I am still too new out to even try it and I know this because I ate half a soft pita with humus and the pita felt like a brick; let's just say it hurt and I am learning from the pain!
But I degress, fried food does that!

Drink your shakes and stay connected. This is an awesome group of friends, we would love to hear from you!

Surgery is sooo close! I too am a fried food freak... WELL actually I USED to be. Now it is a no-no for sure! But still find myself wanting some. I took my grandbabies to the fair today... ohhh those doggone elephant ears and funnel cakes. They just smell too good. BUT i was strong and did not get any.
Hang in there! You are going to bve fine. Just remember how much you want this and don't let anything rob you of it.

One thing I tell myself when trying to resist the no no's is
The taste lasts a moment.. the damage I do when I break down can last much longer.
Hugs to you!
