Ok .. i know its not a great acheivement compared to all the losses that have occured with everyone else ... but I have been eating better and as of this morning i haven't had any mountain Dew in 3 days.  I have been drinking water and fruit juice instead ..
I had been stuck between 270 and 268 and 271 and bouncing around between them .. but when i weighed my self this morning i was at 266 .. less than it had been for the last month ..

so I have given a small     hurray !   for me ..

Just thought I would share

Yaaaay Jenn, gotta get off the dew before surgery.  I have heard from many sources that pop, even diet pop is related to weight gain.   You deserve a

a great big Hurray Jenn ! ! ! !

Take care and have a great day.  Hugs, Kathy

Jenn, first a question... I cannot recall, have you had your surgery yet? If not do you know when. Sorry I forgot, but there's a lot of folks to keep track of here.

GREAT JOB on getting away from that mountain Dew! Keep up the great work. And congrats on getting down to the lowest so far! Thats a great accomplishment! So I agree with Kathy...a GREAT BIG HOORAY for you!

One suggestion I'd like to offer, is to try to avoid or reduce the fruit juices. They contain a lot of sugars and calories. You are better off with the actual fruits, so you get the fiber and other goodies that the juice doesn't offer. Maybe try crystal light? My favorite flavor is the orange. Again, just a suggestion to help you cut back a bit more on the carbs and sugars, BUT you are doing great!

No .. I havent had surgery .. I have only gone to the surgeon for the informational meeting,  where she gave me a lot of stuff to do ..  like go to the psychatrist, nutritionist and the bariatric support group that they have here ..
Tonight I have the 1st of the meetings of the bariatric support group,  I have made an appt with the nutritionist for late this month(25th) and I have the appt with the psychiatrist on oct 6 th .. so right now what I have been doing is on my own ... just getting things done that I know I am going to have to do .. I called my doctor to get the prescription for the nicotine gum for me to knock off the last of the smokes.  Heard somewhere that smoking irritates the pouch .. so i will save my self some irritation and learn the easy way for a change .. quiting the Mt Dew ... trying to drink things that are better for me ..

by the way .. have you heard exactly what aspartame does .. that is in Crystal Light and  I won't touch the stuff because of it ...I'm sorry but anything that has a little symbol after it and a warning that contains phenylalanine ..  I don't think that it is something that should be put in food ... Just my opinion .. .. but you might want to look into it .. not good stuff at alll ...

Any way .. part of what I am doing is cutting out all of the crap that i used to eat .. Fast food restaurants, potato chips and dips and all that kind of stuff . .. my son was heartbroken that there would be no more chips in the house but I said that mommy can't have them in the house so they will not be brought in .. eating sandwiches at home .. salads ..more friuts and vegetables ..  just eating better and yogurt too .. but you have to watch the yogurts .. most of the diet ones also have aspartame in it .. the weigh****chers ones don't though ... but all the rest do that I have seen .. getting used to eating these kinds of things and adjusting my body to the good things that are out there ...

Thats what I have been doing ..

Ya know what? You are dead on about the crystal light. I just learned about what that artificiAL SWEETNER CAN DO TO A PERSON, AND HAD FORGOTTEN ALL ABOUT IT, UNTIL YOU MENTIONED IT HERE. tHANK YOU FOR THE REMINDER! fOR THOSE OF YOU WHO DO NOT KNOW, IT CAN CAUSE numbness and tingling to the lower legs and feet and hands. With prolonged use it can become permanant. Not to mention it is suspected to be a contributor to some forms of cancer. Thank you again, for reminding me about this...how on earth could I have forgotten about it???

You are doing wonderful! Most people don't even bother with making changes until they HAVE to. People like you and Kathy are the ones who are very dedicated and will have great success!

most of the diet add-ins like crystal light have it but there is one called 4C that doesn't use it .. they use sucrolose ... which is the same as spenda ..
