Here I am the first up and at em today

Good morning buddies,

I am up, fixed my pitcher of shakes for the day and just finished the first one.  Strawberry all day on this Sunday.  I don't have to be up early for anything today, but my body decided that I was done sleeping for now.  I didn't realize how tired I was yesterday until I put my feet up for a few minutes and woke up 90 minutes later.  Nap after work and to bed at a decent time, guess that is part of the reason for the early rise today.  Speaking of shakes, I have 14 more until surgery.  The countdown is back on.  Yesterday, wanted to chew on something, anything with flavor that was not a popsicle, got a pack of big red gum.  Sure took care of the flavor need.  My tongue said heeeey there.  Also sucked on a pickle for a few minutes.

Thinking about getting more of the windows closed in this house.  45 degrees out again this am, a sweatshirt feels good over my nightgown.  We just started having summer weather and now it feels like fall already.  I have today and the next 2 days to get anything done I want to before surgery.  Some housecleaning that I won't want to do immediately after surgery, things in the yard, flower garden.  Even finding some room to actually put a car in the garage.  Could give that job to Dennis, but it is my project spread out and I don't want to loose anything.  I use the power tools more than he does.  When we were dating, he told his friends that he was going to marry Bob Villa's daughter.    Anyone who doesn't know Bob Villa, he is on one of the how to do it shows on home construction/remodeling (This Old House).

Just had another piece of big red and think I need to go to the gym for some treadmill time.  Check back latter on, buddies.  Have a great Sunday.

Hugs, Kathy

Good morning gals! How exciting for the two of you who have surgery just around the bend now! It always seems like it will drag out, but it really does fly by pretty quiickly.
Wear yourselves out good the day before surgery. If you are anything like me, you'll find that sleep will elude you.

I hope you all have a wonderful day today!  Enjoy your Sunday, and all of your visits, and activities.

My husband and I were at the hospital until almost 3 am this morning. His mother who is 77, had to be rushed in for emergency surgery. She had a very large Aortic Anyurism That could have ruptured at any moment. She luckily is very active and healthy for her age and made it through the surgery without complication. But we were scared.. really scared, at her age, anesthesia is scary. Plus there was a good possibility that as they worked to fix it, it could rupture. But all turned out well. She will be in ICU for at least 2 days, then to the med surg floor. She should go home in about a week. Her surgery required a HUGE incision and it will be a while for her to heal from it.

This morning, I am exhausted AND have a terrible cae of the scoots. Hope it passes soon, as we are suppoesed to be going back to colorado Springs to visit with Mom. Its an awful long drive when ya have the scoots!

Take good care all. If ya don't see me much today, ya know why...I'llbe in Colorado Springs most of the day most likely.

Will check in this evening when I get home.
Hugs to all.
Patrece

Well that gym thing fell through, sat on the edge of the bed to get dressed and decided for more pillow time.  That's ok, got all day to get to the gym.

Robin, hoping the weather improves for you.  I am going to get a few things done in the next couple of days.

Chelle, surgery in a couple of days, I will be chasing you to the losers bench.
Glad your son is ok with everything.  Enjoy your walk.  We won't be seeing any more 90's this year, the leaves are starting to turn yellow on the trees.

Patrece, keeping you, Paul and his mom on my thoughts today.  Sounds like she is one very lucky woman.  Too bad about the scoots, does it happen more when you are stresses?  I have been pretty glued to the bathroom too, not sure when it is just gas, things have definitely loosened with this dairy diet.

Have a good day everyone, checking back after getting some things done.  Hugs, Kathy

Hey Kathy,

Glad to hear you are doing well with your shakes and are in high spirits.  what brand of shake are you using that you can mix the whole day's shakes at one time and leave them in the frig?

Take care and enjoy that Big Red,

Lucy

Hi lucy, doc has me on no sugar added carnation instant breadfast for 3 meals and 2 snacks a day.  Simply mix 5 cugs milk, 5 packets of instant breakfast and an extra scoop of protein powder.  Stir and serve.  All my 'cooking' done in about 2 minutes in the morning.  Each time I need a shake I just stir and pour.

My tongue is now numb from the big red.  Guess I've had enough for now.

Take care Lucy.  Hugs, Kathy

Thanks Kathy for keeping us in your thoughts. She is in awesome shape and health for a 77 year old. You'd never guess she is that age. But this definitely could have ended it all if it had not been detected when it was. Funny thing is she was due to go in Monday to get checked for this exact thing. Her body said... nope, gotta take care of me NOW!

I do at times get the scoots with extreme worry. But think this is not from that. I think this was a gift from my way too generous son. He has spent the last week with the same problem, but of course came over to visit and to share with us.  I have to talk to him about coming over when he is ill, because Paul had to have his spleen out after his accident because is was crushed, and now he is much more susceptible to illness.  The last thing he needs is to have to race to the potty when he can't see to "race" to it.

Yep big red will definately beat the tongue up a bit. It burns mine after a while and my taste buds get all swollen.lol.
Have a great day. I am going to go take a nap, as I am totally exhausted!
Hugs
