OK, time for me to log my exercise again.  I did good today.  10 minutes on the elyptical, 30 on the treadmill and 30 minutes of dog walking.  My follow up visit said to change up the exercise, recommended to try the elyptical.  And to also do some strengthening with weights.  Weights will have to wait till tomorrow.

Good for you! You got in alot today. I was going to take a walk today since it was fairly nice out, but by the time i wok up from my nap it was sooo cold I opted to stay inside. I did go to walmart and had to go to almost all areas of the store.. does that count as walking? hehehe..

Still hoping to get back to feeling more normal soon. Have been very fatigued and having a bit of soreness still.

You did well Patrece.  Just try a little more each day.

I got in 12 min on the elyptical, 60 minutes on the treadmill and a 30 minute dog walk.  we even found some drier streets, not as much yuk on their feet when we got home.  Total of 13,000 plus steps on the ol' pedometer so far.  now working on food choices.

Great job Kathy! Keep up the good work! You are going to break through this plateau yet!
Today I went for a short walk to the end of my street and back.. probably just a hair over 1/4 mile, but hey.. its a start right? Also walking in at Sams club today ... every little bit helps. I also often go for small strolls around the yard during the days. Find myself with cabin fever. looking forward to spring and better weather. Today was nice tho.

Got in a real walk today. about 1.2 miles. I am now much more swollen than i was...about 3 lbs worth more swollen, but I am sure it'll subside soon. It was nice to get out and enjoy the sunshine and fresh air. My abdomen was a bit more tender by the time I got home from the walk, but the loast leg of the walk was the hilly part and could feel the strain in my abdominal muscles going up and down the hills. I am hoping to do it again tomorrow, unless my tenderness is still increased, then i'll make it a bit shorter walk avoiding the hilly part.

How about all of you???? what have you all been doing to stay active and get healthier???

The Bariatric Surgery dept of our hospital has partnered with the Cardiac Rehab dept to provide (for a small fee) the opportunity to set up a personal program for each bariatric patient.  it includes a personal coach and access to their Cardio Rehab Facilities.

I have begun to use the program and am excited to know that I will have someone that can help me develop a program that will allow more of a chance to be successful in my Weight Loss.  The staff are fully trained and the program is part cardio and part strength training.

What a great idea to partner with another dept.

Yes! This is an excellent resource to have access to! I think all bariatric programs should offer this. Best of luck to you!

Well on the days that I work (12hr shifts) I am to exausted after I get off, I just want to find my bed. But the days that I am off, I find myself always on the go. Before the surgery I never did anything but move from the bed to the couch & sleep, no energy what so ever.  Now..... I might take a 30min. nap, I am up doing something, anything, even at 20+ lbs down I have so much more energy. I have a treadmill in my garage (somewhere).  For now that's the extent of my exercise. I plan on going back to Curves or someother place after I get this "G" tube removed.  On the weekends when I have to work it is slower so I have the time to get out of my chair and walk a few laps around the Guard House.
Thanks,
Synthia

Why do you have a G tube? I've never heard of a wls patient going home with a feeding tube. (Or is it a drain tube?

I almost went home with both.  I had an emergency surgery the day after my surgery.  If there had been a leak, I would have gone home with both.  Luckily, my fever was due to my wife giving me the flu.

Ha ha.
