Thank you for the warm welcome!  I am still pre-op.  I had my consultation with the surgeon, nutritionist and nurses yesterday.  I am about one week's worth of red tape away from getting a surgical date (I hope).  I need to have a surgical clearance exam on Wednesday, get copies of two reports and a letter of support from the counselor.  I am good to go with the insurance company.

I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you better as I begin my journey.

Good luck with all your tests...I hope you get cleared in record time  What type of surgery are you hoping to have? Whatever it is there is someone here who can offer advice. I'm relatively new myself and everyone here has been so helpfull and supportive.

Let us know how you made out at the Dr.s on wednesday too!

I have already been approved for my choice which is open RNY.  From what I have read, that is the one that seems to be the best chance for the most weight loss.  I didn't like the idea of the surgery being done via camera.

I just saw my MD a week ago and he is pretty good about blood work and stuff so I don't anticipate any surprises.

I'm getting excited!
