set the date

I met with my surgeon and set the date for my surgery for September 17.  I am petrified but unbelievably excited.  I see the dietitian on the second of September and will begin the liquid protein diet on the seventh.  It is really real.

CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!! I am soooo thrilled for you. Don't be petrified. Just learn all you can now, and you will feel more at ease. Isn't it soooo exciting when you finally get a date? It's like wow... it is actually really going to happen! I doubt I'll ever forget how that felt!

I am so happy for you.  I just learned my date a couple of weeks ago, kind of wild the feelings that shift through as the days fly by.  Keep us updated.

My advice on what to do next is to go shopping and get everything you will need for your liquid diet and for your first week or so when you get home from surgery. Especially have all of your protein and vitamins and supplements! the dietician will let you know what you can eat after surgery, so after that start working on getting the foods you will need together.
Make a list of any questions you can think of for the dietician to take with you to the appointment.
