Hi, my name is Kimberly.  I don't think I ever did my my intro ~ so here goes . . .   I am 40 years old and I live in Southern Cal.  I have 2 wonderful daughters, one is 7 and the other is 3.  I have been married to my high school best friend for the last 10 years.  He still is my best friend and he has known me since I was 15 (25 years nowwow that's a long time lol).  He is supportive in lots of his own ways, but he really doesn't like to deal with (hell even accknowledge) sickness, Dr's., hospitals, recovery, etc (you get the point . . . I keep rambling.  My parent's live in Mexico and the rest of our family lives back east.  So we are kind of on our own out here.  I have struggled with my weight for 20+ years.  I so don't want either of my daughters to ever have to deal with weight isssues.  We also have our first puppy Chloe who is almost 5 months old.  I am a stay-at -home-Mom who also runs a stamping & scrapbooking business out of my home.  I love to Scrap!  I had my GNY 8 days ago.  So that pretty much concludes the intro portion . . .

HELP  The last few days have been so much better than the first 3 (I really had buyers remorse) and then todayjust seemed to be so bad.   I am so tired, HUNGRY and sad all at the same time.  I also feel like my "OTHER/ORIGINAL" stomache woke up and it is angry and hungry.  It is growling and aching at the same time.  The best way I can explain it is it is shouting " who cut my throught off . . . where's the food?"  I know it's early and I don't mean to complain. . . I just use some advice.  Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Hey Kimberly! Thanks for the introduction. WLS can be very hard to adjust to. I too was one of the strange cases, where I did experience hunger pangs early after wls, but it got better after a while.
Are you getting in all of your meals and any snacks you are supposed to have? Are you getting in the protein supplements? If you are not getting in everything you need, it will contribute to what you are feeling.
It also is not unusual to feel sad / down after wls. You are kinda in a state of mourning for your lost relationship with food, which is probably the longest and most reliable relationship you have had. Try to hang in there. If you continue to experience the sadness, you may need to talk to your doc about it. It won't last forever, but you may need some help with it, if it sticks with you, for a little while.
If you have a nutritionist you are working with for your WLS, you may consider calling them. They may be able to help you with the hungries you are experiencing. Just please please get in all of your meals, supplements, protein, liquids. It is vital!
As time goes on (within a week or 2) you are going to get to feeling a lot better.
Bug warm hugs to you!
Patrece

kimberlt, welcome to our little family.  it was realm rough for me too at the beginning, i was so depressed and thought i had made a big mistake. well i don;t think so now.  i didn;t have the hungeries, in fact i rarely get hungry now.  my hormones were driving me crazy, they  are released out of our fat as it dissolves.  i wish you the best of luck. talk to your doc about some antidepressants.  pm or post me anytime you want, for good or bad stuff.  smooches, vick

So very nice to meet you Kimberly.  I am Kathy.  Wishing you smooth sailing through this process.  I agree with what Patrece and Vick had to say.  I can understand your hubby.  Mine is identical, hard to get him to take a tylenol when he is in pain.

What kind of dog is Chloe?  I have 2 dogs, Oscar is 6, black pom with brown markings on his face, similar to a rottie and Gretta a 7 year old yorkie who know she is queen of the household.  Till I set her straight on *****ally leads this pack.  lol.  Off to work myself.  Chat more another time.

Hugs, Kathy

ps, I am doing my pre-op liquid diet now.

Hi Kimberly, I am Linda, welcome to the group from Meee also. I am still pre-op, and reading info like crazy on here. Learning a heck of alot from my Buddys too.
Good luck on your new journey, from what I understand there are some bumps along the way, but eventually the road smooths out.

Hi Kimberly!
I hope you are starting to feel better. You and your husband sound like my husband and I (we have been together for 18 years and are still BF.) This is a huge surgery and it will get better. My doctor just mentioned exactly what you are going through at my appointment yesterday. He said to try to push through it because it is temporary and your weight loss is permanent! I understand how hard it is to have your stomach yell at you, because mine was hungry for the last five years, all of the time. I had spent as much as possible on diet pills because I was ALWAYS hungry and could not afford to kep gaining weight. (But that was NO way to live, so that's why I decided on bariatric surgery.)

Keep the faith! I know you can do it, because you are worth the fight!
