Tomorrow morning I AM QUITTING my bad habit. Well actually, thats not true. I will be quitting it tonight when I go to bed! This is going to be tough, but I HAVE to do it, for many many reasons. In the end, it will be nothing but positive and good. So I am asking you all for prayers, positive vibes, and encouragement to help me through this.

Lots of prep work today to get ready. Gonna steam clean the upstairs carpets (the only place we smoke in the home). Burn my scented tarts, spray the febreeze, get rid of ashtrays, etc. Also gonna clean out my truck, and take it to have it detailed and destinkified. lol.

I can do this! I know I can, I know I can, I know I must!

Here for you anytime you need a shoulder.  Great choices you are making.  Even better to do this as a team with Paul.  Tell Paul hello from me.  Oscar and Gretta are wagging their tails in agreement.

Thanks to all of you for your support and friendship! It means a lot to me!
It is said that nicotine speeds your metabolism, thus, when you quit, your metabolism slows. I am hoping hard I don't experience any weight struggles as a result of this.  I KNOW I will NOT turn to food intstead of the smokes. That I really have no worries on, just the slowing metabolism worries me a bit. BUT then I figure, I should feel so much better after a while, I should end up with more energy and get up and go. We shall see.
Thanks again for all of the kindness and caring!

You absolutely CAN do it, Patrece!!!

Do you have any hobbies that keep your hands busy?  If not, I would suggest something like scrapbooking, coloring, card making, etc.  The 20 year habit of putting a cigarette between my fingers and up to my mouth was hard for me to break when I quit close to 7 years ago.  Unfortunately, I substituted food much more often than hobbies.  If I knew then what I know now!

Hey Kim.. I have so much work to catch up on around here, that should keep me busy... but it won't be any fun! LOL.
I do like to craft, but haven't felt too creative lately, not sure whats going on there. Maybe I'll have to dig out one of my old projects to keep me occupied! Thanks for the encouragement and support!
Wish I had never ever started!

You will not regret it.  I quit in february and though I still have cravings on occassion they are very manageable and I feel so much better.  I can breath, I have a sense of smell that I had forgotten existed.  I would be unable to exercise much at all if I were still smoking and I am learning to enjoy working out.   I am not perpetually out of breath.  Keep yourself busy, especially your hands and try to alter your routine to get away from the places and things you associate with smoking.  I had to find a new "regular" place to sit and relax instead of the chair I always sat in to have a cigarette and have changed the coffee I usually drank with a cigarette to citrus or mint teas that would make a cigarette taste putrid.  I still drink coffee at work,  but I don't associate it there so much with a cigarette in my hand.  You are starting out magnificently, getting things cleaned and "removing the evidence"  Good luck and I will be remembering you in my prayers .  You really can do this.
