I had my surgery on December 3rd.  When I went in the hospital I was taking insulin shots.  Three weeks after the surgery I was taken off everything.  It has been like a miracle for me.  I am so glad I had this surgery.  I have lost 38 pounds since my surgery.

I am new to oh.  I have my surgery scheduled for Monday, June 20th.  The main reason I looked into having the surgery is because of my diabetes.  I am on the pre op diet and am already having to lower the amount of insulin I take daily.  My doctor and I are both hoping that this surgery will help greatly in reducing or eliminating the amounts of medicines I need for my diabetes.

Thanks for the article. Aren't we fortunate? I mean, as a Type 2 Diabetic, I'm not yet cured. I just had my surgery last December of 2013 and still have a long way to go but this is something positive that we can look forward too!

Any day I should b scheduling my surgery date. I'm nervous and starting to second guess if this is the right choice for me. I just been diagnosed with being diabetic. They say I'm right on the mark to b considered diabetic. My weight is 391 I'm only 5"8. I get down on my self on how did I let myself get to this point. 4 years ago I was "normal". And now in the last two weeks I'm dealing with leg swellen which I never ever dealt with before and at times is painful to even move around let alone work out.

Sorry got off track, appreciate this article so I know what I have to look forward down the road
