Lost 114 lbs. working on getting rid of a recent 10 lb regain...and WILL succeed!
I got an email back from Dr. Bakers nurse, and she said when my PCP gets all the paperwork faxed in, there is a 4 month wait for medicare patients, and I could be scheduled as early as November. I hope my sister and I can have it done at the same time. That would be awesome.

I have my head set on starting a complete turnaround with my life, and WLS is the beginning.
Not sure of the reason for the wait myself, maybe they will suprise me after paperwork is in, and it will be sooner(fingers crossed).

I always thought...okay, so I am just weird! Before I made my final decision on what procedure to have I was a little fearful. But once I made up my mind to do it, there was NO fear! Not ever. Part of that I am sure is I had an excellent surgeon and I knew it, as he saved my husbands life just a year before my suirgery, when no one thought he'd be saved. But I think the other parts of it were I was giving myself a new opportunity at a full life, which I would not have had without the surgery. I think I was at the point where I thought if I had to go on how I was, I'd rather not go on. And also, like you, I scoured and scoured everywhere for all of the information I could possibly get. I was very well informed and educated, and also participated in an online support group.
I am encouraged and inspired by you decision to making a complete turnaround with your life. In many ways, thats what you have to do to make wls successful for the long term. It is a lifestyle change, that we make. It is smart to use your rapid loss phase as the time to get all the good new habits put into place, or yoou are in trouble later. Also, lets face it, losing the weight doesn't change everything. There are years of mindset that will still hold us back in our beautiful transformation, if we don't deal with them. Like everyone says, its not brain surgery, so that part is up to us, and it sounds like you have decided to take charge there. GOOD FOR YOU!
Have a great day!

Every moment I can I spend reading and reconstructing my brain from food thoughts, and all the negatives I see posted. And there are many.
I have read that some of the people have researched for years to make the wls decision, I think they should have come to OH to start lol. It took me a total of about 2 seconds to agree with my pcp to do the wls. I was excited from the get go...
The first site that I came to when I yahoo'd wls was OH, and I feel it is stock full of wonderful support, of all kinds.
I am glad I joined our group, it has become my family. You and Vick are wonderful people, and I admire you for all you do.
Thank you for being here, both of you. Group hug!
