HELLO ALL.  HOPE TO GET TO KNOW SOME PEOPLE THAT I CAN BECOME FRIENDS WITH.  SOMETIMES IT SEEMS THAT THE OH IS SO BIG IT IS HARD FOR IT TO FEEL INTIMATE.  I AM POSSIBLE GOING TO HAVE PLASTICS ALONG WITH HERNIA REPAIR IN AUGUST AND I AM SCARED.  THANKS FOR LISTENING. VICK

Welcome to our group Vickie! I am so glad you have joined us! I look forward to seeing you post often and getting to know you! I am trying to get this group more active, so it makes me very happy to see your post! We will be having a chat room support group meeting on July 9th at 6pm mountain time. I hope you will join us for it. This will be our very first chat support meeting.

I can understand the fear associated with having the plastics. It is a big decision and a major surgery. I want to throw out a suggestion or 2. You may already have considered these things, but just incase, here goes... Make sure you do your homework on the plastic surgeon. See what others have to say about them, etc. I would also make a point of making sure the  one you choose is very experienced in it.  The other thing is to please please make sure you have a nice high protein intake for a while before you have your surgery, and continue to do so after. It is essential to the healing and recovery process. If there is anything I can do to help you, or questions I can answer for you, ask away! If I don't know the answer, I will get it for you.

I gree too, that it can be hard to find those close relationships in such a big place (OH). OH is a wonderful resource for so many, but it can be hard to really connect sometimes. One of my goals for this group is to establish a closeness and an active support network for the members. I hope you can find some of that here! Please remember, I am here and will continue to be here for you and all of our group members! I look forward to getting to really know you and developing a strong and lasting friendship!

Hugs to you & Welcome again!

Patreace, what a lovely name.  my surgeon is going to do the panni and the hernia.  i have talked to a lot of his patients who are really satisfied with what he did. of course, this is all he does in that vein. if i have other ps it will be with a plastic surgeon.  i doubt if i will have any though.  is 6 mountain time 7 central time?  i will try to be there, if i dont forget. my memory has gotten worse with each surgery i have had. lol.  vick

Hey Vickie! I am glad you have a good surgeon, and are able to talk to others to get positive feedback!
Is there anyway I can help you to alleviate your fears? I am happy to be here for you to offer support and encouragement.
Yes, the time would be 7pm central. I too can tend to be a bit forgetful, as we have a lot going on in life right now, so I just write everything down on my calander. (hint hint *Smile*) I really do hope to see you in the chatroom!
Let me know how I can help you.
