Welcome!

Hello- my name is Gail and this is my first post.  I'm not sure how to do all of this - or find the time to keep up - but I figured I'd start here.  Kathy sent me a note welcoming me - and I'd love to have some buddies out there to help me succeed.

First - I had the RNY on 10/14/09 - I started all this in June when they found some issues with my health - it freaked me out a lot!  Things moved quite fast and I was approved for the sugery in Sept and had it less than 30 days later.  In August my highest weight (this year - I'm not going to lie - I was higher a few years ago) - I was 286 - as of this morning I'm around 222!  Not bad.

I'm having a tough time getting in my water and protien still.  I really crave a LOT of the foods I used to eat.  However, I'm finding alternatives to choose or cooking things differently.  I have a long way to go - but know this is the best thing I've ever done for ME!

I'm going to be 40 in a few months and really want to live my life.  I have one son so far and he's about 5.5 and a great supportive husband.  We really want another child and I know its possilbe - and now also looking into adoption on top of everything else.  Ha -

I live in the metro Detroit area - that's SE Michigan.  Not sure if there are others out there in this group.

Hi Patrece, Vicky, Kathy and Everyone
I am new to this as you can see.  I just got word today that my surgery is scheduled for Jan 20th. I'm nervous and sick to my stomach.  I have been waiting a long time, and now that it is here, I can't believe I got the call.  I have so many questions.  I am hoping I can get some answers.  I have been reading some of the posts and these are some amazing people that have been doing so well.  Congratulations all!  I can't wait to be on the journey with you.
Hope to make some new friends to experience this with.
