I invited my retired dad to accompany me, he loves to drive and did a fair amount of driving when he was working.  Got to know dad better.  This is the most time I have spent with him in the last few years.  Found out that he has a dirty mind with his jokes.  I could have gone back to work at 4 weeks out, they required that I have no lifting restrictions when I returned, so the timing worked out great.  Glad I went, met Patrece, you will see her photo on the right of this page as the group leader.  What a fun gal.  Her husband, kids and grandkids treated us just like family.  I hade a great visit with the whole family.

How is your dtr doing after her surgery now?  Yes, lack of protein, supplements or fluids will make you feel off.  Thanks for taking the time with the kids, they are the future.    Hugs, Kathy

Daughter is doing great!  She is 16 months out from surgery and has lost 185 lbs.  She has so much more energy now and is the life of the party.  What a difference.  She's the one *****ally helped me decide to do this.  I want to have enough energy to play with the grandkids.

Please pass on my congrats to your daughter.  Looking forward to seeing your success as well.  Grandkids are a good incentive to get to the losers bench.  Hugs, Kathy

I too have a daughter who had RNY. She too had hers before I did. She had her surgery a year ago January and is down like 195 I think it is.
At first I was going to do the lap band but as i studied (6 months worth) I decided RNY was the way for me to go. I am tired quite a bit, but understand I have an incredibly stressful life at home, as my husband was blinded and crushed head to toe in a work accident a little over 2 years ago, and there's alot of sadness around here. I thank the lord he survived, now just keep praying he will find some peace with his blindness. I also have a million other things going on, and it keeps me going, but tuckered out.

Hope to see you in chat tomorrow evening!

Hello group,

I have been a member of OH since I first started looking into the surgery in about July.  My surgery date is Tuesday, October 20th at 1PM.  I am an oncology/transplant RN in the same hospital I will be having the surgery, The Nebraska Medical Center.  I have found such great support on this site and I am still learning the different areas.  I still need to get some pictures posted.  Thanks for the support and encouragement that you offer everyone.  I look forward to being an active member of this group.

Hello everyone, my name is Joyce and I have my surgery date scheduled for 11/10.  I have been combing the OH website since I was anticipating surgery.  I finally got into it after I knew I was actually getting the surgery.  Everyone here at OH and every board are so friendly and willing to help with your concerns.  What a great site to have in support of a very shaky experience.  I hope to post pics on my blog eventually, as you know pictures are far and few between when we are up there with weight.  I have missed the Monday forums the last couple of times.  I need to put a post-it on my computer.  Well thanks to the leaders, they are very nice, and to the future friends who are coming in to find a Buddy.  Best Wishes to All.
