Welcome to the family Kim, I am 48 and had my wls 13 months ago.

My knees were so painful that I was using a cane part time.  Now, nearly 100# lighter, I am able to walk several miles with the critters and still have some energy left.  I also have diabetes, took my last insulin shot the day before surgery and am now controlled with pills and diet alone.  My sleep apnea is better, cut the pressure on the cpap mask by more than half of my highest level.  I have noticed improvements in other areas of life too, simply having the energy to do more things.

Looking forward to reading many posts sharing your experiences with the group.  Try to join us for chat on monday evenings.  I send out a reminder each monday with a shortcut to the chat area.  Hugs

Welcome Zoe. When you say you feel very along since your surgery, does this mean you have no one to offer support and understanding? Do you have family that is not supportive? You have found our group, and while we are not at your side in person, we are here. Reach out whenever you need to.

The changes we must make after wls are tremendous. And this isn't the easy wayout that most people believe it is. It does get better as you adjust.

What are the reasons that you find yourself regretting this? I'd really like to help you through this and give you encouragement and inspiration and help you embrace this journey.

I am glad you found our group. I hope we can help you feel so much better about things. Hang in there and please reach out with questions, concerns and feelings.

I personally have never regretted mt RNY. Even in times of struggle I knew it would be a gift to a longer healthier and happier life.

 Hi Patrece,

OK, so i do have family trying to support me but they don't really understand and never wanted me to have the op, so i kinda feel that they are thinking it my own fault i feel this way.

I think here in England things are done very differently to the USA.  I had my op on the Saturday and was home on the Monday with 4 bits of paper explaining what to eat and what not to eat, lots of pills and injections and a follow up appointment, that was it!! i think this is a lot to do with my feelings for the whole thing.

Did you feel unhappy at first? depressed? everyone I have spoken to have said how wonderful this op is yet I hate it, I wish I could go back and not have it done! will this feeling change? I hope so.

Sorry for going on I don't have anyone else to talk to about all this.

On the up side I have lost 48 pounds since I started the whole process, but it as stopped now due to me not eating or drinking enough, the doctors are saying my body as gone into faming (cant spell very well sorry) mode and I need to eat and drink more but I just don't want to or feel to.
