Lost 114 lbs. working on getting rid of a recent 10 lb regain...and WILL succeed!
Hi everyone, my name is Cecelia. I am exploring WLS and this time seem to be getting further than ever before. I have been researching abd exploring this since 2004, but came down with cancer in 2007 and could not proceed. Since I have been in remission for over 2 years my hematologist approved my proceeding. The process is started but I do not have a surgery date yet. Still completing testing. I hope to get to talk with you guys more on discussion boards and chat. Thanks for the support.
Welcome to our group Cecelia! I too explored the option for many years before taking the plunge, Now looking back, wish I had done it when I first thought about it. I would have had less to lose and reclaimed life much sooner. But I am thankful i did it and have never regretted it for a single moment.
I am soooooooo pleased to hear you are and have been in remission. Bless your heart! You are absolutely a survivor and a strong lady!
I look forward to reading and answering your posts and meeting you in chat on Monday evenings. Last Monday the chat room was down, and so far, still is, but hoing it will be back up in time for monday evening. Best of luck in this process of approval. Let us know how we can help support you!

Hi everybody. I'm Hillary, 31, and having RNY this coming Wednesday.
I first started researching WLS about a year ago when I found out that the military's insurance will cover spouses who meet certain criteria, and once I moved back to the States, I started the process in January. I've moved through it pretty quickly, I think, but I've tried to take the time to read more about my options and take as many post-op nutrition classes as I could get to. It's definitely been worth it as I thought when I first started that I would never be able to eat like a normal person or go out with friends again! Now I know that it's just about being more aware of what's going into my body and viewing food as nourishment rather than reward.
Anyway (I tend to talk a lot)! ;)
I hope everyone is having a lovely 4th of July. Best of luck to all the Buddies!

Hi I'm Pamela I'm from the central coast of California and I'm 27. I don't have a surgery date yet I still need to get my psych eval and then all of my paperwork gets shipped off to the insurance company. I will be having my surgery about 2-2.5 hours away from my home but luckily for me it's in the town I grew up in and my parents still live. My mom actually had the surgery about 6-7 years ago and the same surgeon is going to do my surgery. I'm really excited and anxious and will take any and all advise you have to give to me! thanks!!
Welcome to the family Pamela. We are here for support of all. How is your mom doing after her surgery, good role model I hope. Your final steps will go by quickly. Come share on the bariatric buddy page often. It is great to get to know the rest of the family. Hugs

My name is Leslie, I am an Army spouse. I have 4 kids and 2 grandchildren. My husband is currently in Iraq, and due to leave the day I have my surgery, so he should get here in time to take me home. My doctor is also deploying, and since my surgery is a bit higher risk, he wants it done now, so that he is here to deal with anything should it pop up. I am having my Lap Nissen converted to and RNY on the 22nd. Hoping to find others who have had that done themselves..
Welcome to this family Leslie, best of wishes as surgery day approaches. Glad to hear that you hubby will be back to retrieve you from the hospital. Anything we can address here at bariatric buddy in the meantime? Hope to visit with you at chat session on monday evening, shortcut is posted each monday. Hugs
