Topic: RE: Fighting hypoglycemia

I had the typical morning blood tests (all hormons) . That show borderline low cortisol, and acth, HGH...etc...

Then i had a few hours long insuline stimulating tests...

Were found out that i not only have insuline resitance, but that my body was very slow responding to very low BS, (20-30s) ..and the reaction (elevated acth, cortisol, ) were very short lived...

That plus my overall symptoms... Hypoglycemia, (even with very strict diet) depression, very low energy, low BP, ortostatic low blood pressure,  inflammation in the body...etc etc...

I am on a full replacement dosage of 25 mg per day in divided dosages...(as needed)

I did not gained weigh on it,  i was able to lose 15 lbs because i no longer had to eat carbs to manage my BS.  Plus i can be more active without worrying that i would pass out either due to low BS or low BP.

Topic: Regain

Just wondering if anyone who has had a regain would share how they lost the weight.  I have gone back to basics and my calories are usually between 800-900 a day.  I am keeping my carbs at 20 or a bit below. I drink my water all day and my protien is usually as high as 100 grams a day.  I have been posting my food and if anyone notices anything they think is off I would appreciate being told.  I will not take offesnse or feel judged. So how did you lose your regain and how long did it take?  My regain was about 15 pounds and I have lost 5.

Stayed on track yesterday with a few changes to food plan.  I got stuck at a hearing with a client and didn't eat lunch until 4:30.  So dinner was not happening.  Weigh in is this weekend and hoping to have lost at least 1 pound.

B-protein shake

L- chicken thigh with 1/4 cup broccili

D-cod and kale

S-? something protein if needed

Wishing everyone a good Friday.

In 04 they diagnosed me with Addison's disease only to be told later I did not have it.  What tests did they use to diagnose your adrenal insufficiency?  I have been on and off steroids since 04.  My last round was This summer right before this all started.

Thank you for your post sharing your victory of not giving in to emotional hungry.  I really, really needed it.  I'm tired.  I haven't slept very well since I had my knee surgery.  I woke up early this morning (too early) so I've been tired all day.  For some reason, being tired or being sick is a trigger for emotional eating.  It is strange but true.  Coming on BOTT and reading that a couple of you didn't give me makes me feel much better......THANKS!

Here are my eats for today:

B - Coffee, creamer w/Splenda - 3 cups (really tired so added another cup LOL)

L - 1/2 slice of Turkey Meatloaf with steamed broccoli

D - Turkey Meatloaf with green beans

S - (Maybe) Apple w/1 slice of cheddar cheese

Thanks for the support from everyone.

Kathy those are also triggers for me especially feeling sick.  Get some rest and hope you get a better night sleep.

L-4oz turkey breast and some type of green veggie
D-salad topped with grilled chicken breast
