Cathy, so sorry for your troubles.  It is so scary identity theft can be a nightmare.  Something happened recently with Anthem and I was notified by my employer that my health insurance information was part of the hack.  So they have my name, address and SS#.  I have to complete paperwork and sign up for credit reporting.  Something else to worry about.  So glad the IRS appears to be doing its job. Good luck

Good for you Jenniflower!  You didn't just think about it but registered for the 5k.  I had a total knee replacement surgery in December so a 5k in May is a little too ambitious.  I've set a goal to do a Turkey Trot 5k on the morning of Thanksgiving so if you want to do another one then, we can virtually do them together.

I know of quite a few people that have used the Couch to 5k app and liked it.  I'll probably do it again when I'm more stable and balanced with my bionic knee.

If you'd like, post what training you did that day/week so we can support you.

You Go Girl!

Cathy

So sorry to hear you're not feeling well.  Take care of yourself and feel better.

You aren't alone in your sick=food.  I'm right there with you.  Sick or tired = food for me.

My update for today is about the IRS and taxes.  Remember last weekend was doing taxes and I procrastinated??  Well, we received a letter from the IRS about our taxes that we just filed for 2014.  I knew that wasn't true because I haven't done them yet!  We were alarmed so my husband tried to call this morning and couldn't get through.  He took off today and went down to the local IRS office.  Long story short is that someone tried to file a tax return for me.  That raised a red flag for the IRS because we've filed jointly for a long time.  Next, an attempt was made to file tax returns for both my hubby and I, and listed my name first instead of our normal where he is first and I'm second.  From these two minor things, they sent the letter to us THANKFULLY!

The representative told my husband that they are having a record year of fraudulent attempts to file tax returns.  She told him that it has tripled since last year!  We have to fill out some forms and cannot file electronically which are no problem.

Message:  Procrastination pays off sometimes LOL.  Seriously though, if I'd done them this weekend, we wouldn't have known about this until much later.

Now the next problem is that our identities have been stolen including our SSNs.  I'm VERY cautious about my identity and certainly my SSN. About 10 years ago my identity was stolen so I've been overly cautious since then.  The IRS rep told us that someone bought or stole a database similar to what's happened to Target and other businesses.  Very frustrating, especially when I'm so cautious about our info.

Thanks for reading my vent!

Here's my eats today:

B - Coffee

L - Turkey sandwich

D - Grilled chicken with steamed broccoli

S - Apple w/2 T. peanut butter

Wishing everyone a happy and healthy day!!

Cathy

The weather is S**T here and going to be until this weekend. I'm going to start the couch to 5k on Saturday. I can handle doing it in the rain and even in the snow but it's just not possible in the ice which is what we are expected to have which started this morning. I'm a little worried about my age and my weight making this a little more difficult than last time. I'm 39 this time around and I weigh 20 lbs more than last time. I guess I do have some time to lose some of that while training for the next 12 & 1/2 weeks. That's a good amount of time to get myself ready for the race. I looked up my last time for the 5k I did before. I had a 48 min 19 sec so I want to do this one no more than 45 min but would prefer to do it under 40 minutes!!!!

Thanks for the well wishes.  I have a chronic health issue which involves my inner ear, balance, vertigo, hearing loss etc. It is something I have learned to live with for about 18 years.  Some days it is just worst than others.  Today is just one of those days.  I found  a book 5 years ago that helped with modifying my diet.  It can be very limiting, but it has reduced my vertigo attacks by about 90%.  That is one of the reasons my food looks the same most of the time.  Between that and following my food plan for weight loss and maintenance I just don't have many options.  Its all good.  I still have off days no matter what I eat and today is one of those days.

Gee sorry you feel sick.  I always want comfort food then too.  Doesn't really make me feel  better just a head thing I guess.  I guess we need new comfort foods!

I haven't heard about cutting back on protein and increasing fat to boost the scale.  Can you share a little more info?  I am anxious to hear how it is working for you.  Some days I think the only thing that will make that d**N scale move is a shot gun!  LOL

B & L protein shakes

s raw veggies

D baked salmon (new reciepe)

s sf jello maybe protein shake

I posted a thread in this forum a few days ago titled Regain.  You can check it out and see what you think.  I did well in maintenance for quite some time with my protein at 60-70 and carbs around 40-50.  Since I am trying to lose the regain, I reduced carbs to 20 and upped my protein. I have been kind of stuck and was reaching out to see how others have lost their regain. After some reading, I thought I would modify it a bit and give it a try.

good luck.. be proud that you can do it and want to do it...

I found that heavy duty exercise drops my Bs too  low and makes me hungry..  I know that works for some people.. the endurance.. and the happy hormones... endorphins..

as I get older - yoga and walking is my to go tool.. long term - slower... I do love hiking ...
