I started running at 39!  Once I started, I didn't stop.  I ran 11 races - including a half marathon!  The thing that got me started running was registering for a race and using the Couch to 5K app.  You've got this!

That is awesome you are doing a half marathon!!!! And the day after me is so cool! Yes I'd love to train with you!!!! What does your training consist of? I was going to start couch to 5k on Saturday or Sunday because that's our first nice day. Can't wait!!!!

I'll do training with you!

I've signed up to do a half marathon on May 31st.

I had VSG 10/2010 and was 10 lbs away from reaching my goal but have gained about 30 lbs since then.

I had always been active but after the surgery I made a promise to myself to never stop working out and so far I've stuck to this. I ran my first half in 2012, and have done 4 altogether. the first 2 were amazing, but with the weight gain and feeling like a failure not to run as fast as I use to I gave up on myself and training and just "winged it" for the last 2.

This one on May 31st I am planning on making it my "comeback" to running.

they may be different distances but the mental game is the same :)

You will never be made to look like a fool if your heart and head is in it, no one can ever take that away from you.

Congrats on taking this step!!

I feel your pain Jentle01, we started at the same weight, have the same goal and have gained back 30 lbs and I also have low iron (condition exciting before my wls)

I had VSG 10/2010 and it does get harder to lose the further out you get.

sounds like you're doing everything right

it could be your iron levels.

keep strong and positive!

Hello BOTT Family, my name is Genie and I live in Lansdowne, PA.  I had RNY in January 2007. I never reached my goal, but was able to lose 110lbs and over time have regained 30lbs of the 100lbs lost. I am struggling and could really use a buddy to motivate and relate to my struggle.
