TDBull, plan your meal out before you go. go online and look at the calories/protein/carbs and pre pick your option, then tell your friend what you're having and get them to order for you so you can't get weak and change your mind. then request they pack up half of it and give the other half to you after the bill is paid so you can't pick at it.

My day is going good, down 1 pound

B- plain greek yogurt with vanilla protein powder and blueberries

S- peppers

L- roasted chicken on salad

S- pepperoni and 1 oz cheddar cheese

D- leftover steak and salad

Hi Jen!
Congratz on your new child at home!!!

I went thru the same thing. My ankles hurt every morning now. I gained 45pounds. This morning I was 187.7 UGHH!!!!!!

I was lazy with no energy either. I went to my doctor last year and I was given a monthly dose of B12 but I am anemic. My levels are low there. I'm pushing tho.
Today when I got on the scale and saw 187.7 I know that once I come home tonight.... I must do my T25. I need this weight to melt! I just wonder why is it so hard to come off now? Ugh!
Good luck! Let's get back on track here. Meal prep plays a big roll here.
Keep us posted!

WOW - I really needed this today. I follow most of my bariatric plan, except for allowing simple carbs (crackers, chips, bread) back into my diet. And I am a grazer starting around 3pm daily. This is why I have a 17lb weight gain. It is tough, but it's what we have to do to stay healthy and live. I was sidelined by my obesity - a spectator in my own life, and I vowed never to go back there again. Today, I run, bike, ski, skate and actually PLAY!! Just this week I wore out my running shoes - this is a first in 57 years for me. I want to keep wearing out my workout shoes - yes, it's tough, but I must take responsibility. Thanks so much for this post!!! I am going to copy to my blog and read it daily!!

How wonderful that you are focused on your child, and now yourself again. It is so hard to make sure we always treat ourselves with kindness, but we need to stay healthy and happy in order to help those we love also stay healthy and happy. You can do this. We can do this together. I am up about 17lbs and wake up every day committing to this journey - most days I do something off plan that moves me away from my goal, but I'm not giving up. One day at a time!!

It's an overcast, sort of gloomy day today here in Sun Valley, ID. Yesterday, I ate all of my workout calories, so here I sit without a weight loss. Go figure...

Started with water and vitamins, now drinking coffee.
B - morningstar hot and spicy sausage patties and steamed zuchinni
L - grilled chicken breast and salad
S - Quest protein bar
D - out with friends to celebrate her birthday. (this is where is gets tricky for me - I lose my battle around dinner hour and eat off plan). HELP me be strong today.
Will get my workout in today.
Hope you all have a fantastic day!!

I did it!!! I lasted the entire 30 min workout. I'm so proud of myself. I can totally do this 5k I just know it. I'm working my rear off to get my rear off Lol. It feels so good to be running again even if it is just a minute at a time. The last C25K that I did the first week you only ran for 45 sec and then walked and I had trouble with that, this time it starts at a min and I'm rocking it. I could probably go longer too. So I look forward to next week but I'm going to do week one until Monday.

Topic: Getting Real Fast

Hi friends,

I had my VSG in 2007.  Lost 70 pounds, felt amazing, had a new lease on life.  Then, in 2010, I became a parent of a special needs child through adoption, and I put everything aside to focus on this amazing little kid.  Well, he just turned 6, and I just got the wake up call.  I have gained 40 pounds.  Last fall, my bones and joints were hurting so much, I attributed it to a gluten sensitivity.  So I gave up gluten and added a probiotic to my routine.  It helped a lot--mostly with my IBS symptoms, and belly bloat.  But no weight came off.  I was still too tired--exhausted to exercise.  I would try.  I ran, I went to Orange Theory and loved it, but it took me a week to recover from every work out.  I really thought I'd spend the rest of my days on the couch getting bigger and bigger.

Last week, at my first physical in 3 years, I learned something startling.  My vitamin D level is alarming low.  17 (nml 30-100).  My vitamin B12 is also dangerously low 119 (nml 200 - 1100).  Part of the problem is the VSG, and my lack of any supplements.  Another part of the problem is the protonix I've been on since 2008 for GERD, which contributes to food intolerances and vitamin deficiencies.  I'm now on weekly b12 shots and a daily dose of 4000 ius of D3.  I also just ordered a multi vitamin, more D3 and calcium supplements from Bariatric Advantage, which I'm looking forward to starting.  Really hoping to see some vitality return so I can get this 40 off, and start feeling and looking like myself again.

I had a dream surgery experience.  I followed the rules, lost the weight, had no complications, and found my life begin to expand in wonderful ways.  Now, I feel the shell closing up.  I hate going places, I'm back in hermit mode.  I need to get control.

I'm getting back to the rules immediately, including no slider foods, no junk carbs, no soda, 90 g. of protein, protein first, and low carb veggies second, no drinking with food, vitamins, exercise.  I will also continue to avoid wheat gluten, since it does seem to cause systemic inflammation in me.  In addition to the vitamin deficiency, I have high cholesterol (total and LDL).  I have an appointment for a retest in June, so I would like to see 25 pounds off me by then, with better blood levels.

If anyone else is in the same boat, please chime in.  We can support each other in this and get where we need to go.

Jen

I wondered the same thing.. If they don't have an app they should... maybe you could create one. It's one that is needed! I can't wait till I can run a whole 5k. I don't want to walk any of it. I'm going to work my butt off to do the best I can ... I mean it's an amazing feat to go from only lasting 11 min to lasting 19 min. I feel so accomplished. Tomorrow I'm going back out and i CAN NOT wait. I get excited even thinking about it. I want it to be an obsession so that when I start working these 12 hr shifts I'm still running. The plan is to go before work so that I'm energized and feeling wonderful through my work day. :D I'm going to try getting up early tomorrow to go so i can get used to running early morning since the first two were at around8 in the morning and when I start working they are going to have to be around 5 am. I can't wait until I am where you are and running for 25 min at a time. Right now I'm jogging/ walking for 19 min. I'm at the run for one minute walk for a minute and a half but can't wait to finish this and move on to the next stage. :D
