Good morning botts:
I lost a pound this morning so I am 210 lbs. I have a very long way to go. One day at a time. I am planning on following Nutrisystem again today. The garden is looking pretty good. I need to start cutting back perennials and I have 1 more bag of mulch to spread. Inside I can vacuum, laundry and clean bathrooms. Swimming is very relaxing so I will go to the gym this afternoon. Have a great day everyone. It was really hard finding our group today. Take care, Tri
My food plan today:
B: Nutrisystem D bagel and 1 T pb
S: cheese and peach
L: veggie soup, salad and Nutrisystem tortellini
D: Nutrisystem chicken pot pie
S: Sam's club hot dog
I cleaned, shopped, laundry and gardened for over 4 hours today. That is almost 1000 calories burn.
Hi there, I had RNY on 12/28/2013. I have been doing great physically until a miscarriage this summer and gained 10 lbs. back. I am back to 162 right now but this was the first rocky point in my life since surgery and it made me realize I still have a lot of food issues that I need to think about and be aware of. I am definitely a food addict/emotional eater/binge eater. I think about food all day long, every day and haven't gone a day without a small piece of chocolate in 6 months. I live in Alaska so there aren't many support group options that work with my work and school schedules.
Anyway, I am so glad to be here and I really hope to embrace this group, and learn and grow (or *not* grow) with all you guys!
Day 3 of my healthclub fall challenge. This morning I am back down to 211 lbs. The water weight is gone I am happy to say. I moved continually yesterday or so it seemed. 20 minute of movement per hour is a lot for me. I am continuing with Nutrisystem and a lot of movement again today. I really enjoy swimming and I can feel the workout in my whole body. The sauna is very relaxing too. Have a great day everyone. Tri
My food plan today:
B: 1/2 left over whole wheat, turkey, rf Swiss cheese wrap
S; Nutrisystem banana nut muffin
L: Nutrisystem homestyle chicken and a salad with cheese
S: 1 cup frozen grapes and Nutrisystem cookies
D: Nutrisystem cheese pizza and 2 cups veggie soup
S: Nutrisystem chocolate cake
I cleaned, gardened and swam for 130 minutes so far todayl

Good morning botts:
Today is day 2 of my health club challenge. Today I am starting Nutrisystem for 5 days out of the week. I will eat food that fits the plan the other 2 days. I need help with portion control. I need to keep moving. I will clean, garden, swim, bike or walk 20 minutes every hour I am awake. 180 minutes cleaning, 20 minutes swimming, 20 minutes shopping and 120 minutes standing and singing today. I am going to add sf jello, sf Popsicles and Crystal light as free foods. I weigh in next week Tuesday. Wish me luck! Tri
Food plan:

S: fruit and nut protein bar
D: Nutrisystem D lasagna and 2 cups of my home made veggie soup
S: Nutrisystem D carrot cake
S: 1/2 whole wheat tortilla, turkey and reduced fat Swiss cheese wrap (not on plan but I needed food to sleep)
Hi there! I'm sorry to hear about your struggles. I bet you do "care" but that person is buried inside of you. You can bring it out again with a little effort! Here is my story:
I'm 8 years out and up 35 pounds. I added carbs back into my diet which was all bad. I am gluten free due to celiac disease, and every time I saw something "gluten free", be it cookies or cake...I ate it! I am getting back to basics myself here. I did the "5 day pouch test" to kick me off. I did lose some weight and it helped me kick carbs (but it was hard!) I'm eating protein and some non starchy vegis. Bought a fit bit and have been walking and drinking my water. I hope to see more weight loss in the near future!
Good luck to you and I wish you the best! We can get back on track together!
I am glad you found this group. People are very encouraging. Tri
Good afternoon botts
I weighed in at the fall weight loss challenge at my health club. I am too ashamed to tell you all what I weigh. I loaded up on salt yesterday. I have been swimming and building up muscle as well. I will give it my best shot. I don't know what prizes they are offering. I am looking for some support from the trainers and group classes. I also have professional portraits planned for Thanksgiving weekend. I hope you are all doing well and staying bot. Tri
My food plan today:
B: Jimmy dean delight 250
S: veggie soup and a peach 130
L: fat free cottage cheese and turkey slice roll ups 250
S: salad with craisins, tomato, cucumber, cheese, ff cottage cheese, sunflower seeds and fat free dressing 300
D: steak in whole grain tortilla 350
S: nut crunch protein bar 200
1480 calories
Wow you are off to a great start. You've identified 3 things to work on and keep it up! No one in my family has had gastric bypass, they've only had to deal with my adventures! I must say, my family has been supportive of me all the way. But sometimes it's nice to relate to someone else going through the exact same thing! My problems are - I'm addicted to sugar (it doesn't make me dump anymore), my portion sizes are too big, and I graze (mindless eating.) Those are the issues I am dealing with right now...and with the holidays coming up I just feel doomed!

Hi Amanda,
Thank you for sharing your story. It helps me realize that a) I am not alone and that b) I can get back to basics.
I started walking yesterday morning - I feel like a slug, BUT I am walking 30 minutes. This is the woman who did a 5K last yr... so I am not impressed, but I am determined to stick to it. By the way, I gained 30lbs this past year alone!!
This week is supposed to rain ALL week, so I will get on the treadmill. Did I mention that I also have a FULL gym downstairs, oh, and a GYM membership? I will be making use of them both when I cant get myself out to walk.
One thing that really has creeped up is my wine drinking - oh those EMPTY calories! I can down as many as one full bottle in one day... that, is off my list. I am now drinking green tea.
Another thing I am fully aware of is the mindless eating - yes, when I am bored, when I am studying, when I am writing a discussion post for one of my online courses, when I am watching TV, when I get stressed or mad (the few times I get mad), when I don't want to cook.
So, I am curbing that to me more mindful about what do I eat, why do I eat and when do I eat. I know it's been only 36 hours (haha!) but I am putting more thought into it.
Well, those 3 things are first: walking every day (even if it rains), switch from wine to green tea, being mindful about my eating habits.
Let's see how it goes from here...
Thank you again for the encouragement. I needed that and I dont have that where I live despite the fact that 6 of my immediate family members have had gastric bypass. You'd think we would support one another!!?
Have a fantastic day! I am here to listen to you as well.
