I am challenging myself to lose 1 tiny little pound this week...and keep it off until I weigh myself next Monday. Anyone interested? I had a Weigh****cher leader who said most people realistically lose 1/2 lb. a week on the average. Tri

Hi there,

I am sorry I have been off the radar for a few days! It's been a crazy week!

The sugar addiction... oh, if it didnt turn into empty calories, right? Holidays are horrible, BUT there are ways you can get around it especially if you don't dump anymore. How about you do indulge your cravings, but in smaller portions? Depriving yourself will only make it harder.

So, if you bake cookies during the holidays, for example - why dont you pack them in small portions inside sandwich bags? Better yet, bake and share with the neighbors or with your family! Best choice: don't bake! LOL

If you get gifted a tin of cookies - like I do from my neighbor - bring it into work and put them out for others to eat. That way you don't have them at home. IF you must have them at home, do what I used to do: FREEZE them! Yes, put them in the freezer in small snack bags. You'd be surprised about the types of foods I've frozen. Haha!

Lucky for me, I am not a sweets person all the time, but when I do get a craving for something, it's not a few cookies... it's the sleeve! LOL That's horrible!! The worse part is that a) I KNOW it's a horrible choice and b****il last week, I felt guilty, but ate past the guilt.

These past few days have been better. Let's see how it goes through October. Fingers crossed for all!

Hi Heather,

Thanks for sharing your story and giving me some insight. I too LOVE carbs! That's one of the problems.

I have heard and read about the 5 day pouch test - I think I would like to research it more and give it a try even if to kick-start me on the path to dropping a few pounds - well, like 50!

I too have the FitBit One - feel free to add me (mzvalentin) if you want. I have been wearing it again since last Monday and although I have not hit the 10,000 steps goal, I have done more than 7K steps almost every day.

Good luck to you too - let's keep in touch!

Ana

PS - I have missed those "emojis" - hahah!!

I find this group very supportive. Many of my family and friends had miscarriages and then went on to have families. I've noticed many people gain a little the 3rd year post op. Good you caught it at 10 lbs. Take care, Tri
