Deb T,
GS cookies are crack!!!
No truer words have ever been spoken! I can't keep them in the house, lol
My plan does call for the 3 meals and 2 snacks.
If it was only the 3 meals I don't think I could do it.

I agree with the above posters. No need for you to drink protein shakes unless you like them. I am transitioning my iced latte to a coffee protein drink. I'm still tweaking the recipe but I've already decreased the carbs and upped the protein.
Everyone eats girl scout cookies. They are cookie crack.
Congratulations on your new baby. That really takes a while to recover your body after pregnancy and for most of my mom friends and my own experience is that there are some changes that are permanent. Small things but kinda come with the baby. A non weight thing after you have a child is that your brain is hard wired to not go so deeply to sleep so you can hear the baby. Evidently that never goes away. DARN!! I'm still a much lighter sleeper and my son is 13.
Keep posting and run away from those cute little scouts.

I did remember a dish that works well to take for summer parties or year around if your with my people. It's potato salad made with cauliflower and it's great for me to eat with a hunk of meat. Make mine steak!

22 Years! That's wonderful. Blessings on his continued good health.
My Rny got me a kidney. I have the ultimate success story!
Oh..the cake had awful frosting. My son was happy to eat it.

Congratulations on the baby Anita Jo. Talk about big changes!! I'm sure things were hectic, but sounds like you are pulling things together again (as soon as those GS cookies are gone!)
I have to think again about protein shakes -- I was planning on having one a day, but from what I've read, it's better to "eat" the protein rather than drinking it. I have always been a late-night eater - dinner is usually around 9:00 and I have a snack afterwards, and always lost weight. But, I usually don't eat anything for at least one hour before going to bed.
I love this board -- so much good info.
Maria -- I was lucky, I never had hot flashes! (I am supposing it's because I had an endometrial ablation year ago - one of the best things I ever did.)
Sounds like you are well prepared.....pre-planning is very important. Does your plan call for three meals/two-three snacks a day, or just three meals? I often wonder which is better. Amazing how plans can differ from one another.
Thanks for the warm welcome ladies! I have faced the fact that I must go strictly protein and veggies to rid myself of this monkey on my back. Also had protein shake and greek yogurt for extra protein. Not only CAN I do this, I WILL do it.
I've got a few other stresses in my life currently and that could very well be part of the problem too. I ended up downloading a step counting app today and since I had some free time I took a walk in the park. From what I can tell the app is fairly accurate. I just updated me information and will check it later to see if it's gotten closer to the mark. Right now it's about 16 steps more than I am taking. The point is it's a helpful tool that I think will give me a nice view of how much moving I actually do or do not do.
As far as bars go, I don't depend on them or even use them daily. I like them more for backup for when I can't always bring or find food.
