Back On Track Together

Hanging my head in shame. I too have gained 30lbs. I'll be 6yrs out in June. Lots of emotional eating for me. I don't do soda or much water but love black coffee and half sweet/Unsweetened tea. You would think after chasing 2 toddlers 24/7 I would lose weight but after leaving my job waitressing to fulltime Mimi ..I have gained :( I'm curious of how many calories and carbs should we be consuming. I'm 5ft weighing 148-150 would love to get back to 130.. Please add me. Lets do this together.
Hi Cathy w. Haven't seen you post for awhile and was just worried about you. Hope all is well.
Thinking of you,

I am so proud of you Maria! Great job!
I didn't fare so well last week and gained a pound. Back on track this week.
Have a great rest of week and enjoy your weekend. Expecting rain on Saturday and Sunday here ugh. Wanted to garden (oh well).

Glad you got a diagnosis. Take care.

Hey Brandi,
Hope your having a good week!
I got off track too when Hallei was home. Too much eating out and having higher calorie foods at home got me and I gained a pound. I don't know why I let her being home as an excuse to eat everything I wanted grr. I'm back on track now and determined to get this stubborn 15 lbs off.
Thanks for sharing ☺️,
Amie
Glad you finally have a diagnosis - now your doctor can help resolve your issues.
Be careful with what you're eating -- pasta is loaded with carbs, and can lead to problems. Hope you can find something better to suit your needs.
Good luck -- wishing you a speedy recovery!
Yogurt sounds good, but all dairy really tastes bad right now......I haven't even had coffee because the creamer I use tastes awful.......a lot of foods don't even sound good....today was the first day that I ate some fruit and actually finished it.
I have been off track for longer than I want to admit. RNY in June, 2002. Then thyroid cancer in 2005, full thyroid removal, radioactive iodine, and on synthetic levothyroxine. I think I just gave up. I'm almost 65 years old. But I have decided enough of this! I'm going to try to get back on track and take off some of this weight that I have put back on. I have gotten lazy on the program, addicted to carbs (yes, I admit it), and never drink the amount of water I am supposed to.. Nothing makes me dump anymore so it's more self control than anything.
I am upping my protein, adding protein shakes, and I have discovered my new favorite vegetable! I love spaghetti and pizza. I found recipes for zucchini spaghetti (using a spirilizer) and even zucchini pizza crust. I can't believe it! I can have pizza again and spaghetti! Heaven! I have done the zucchini spaghetti and it's absolutely delicious! It will be on my grocery list every week now. Also, I have recently discovered Kale and love it too.
Has anyone tried the 5 day pouch test and does it really work? I think it would be hard to be on only liquids (even soup) for several days. I remember YEARS ago, I reached a plateau in my losing, and went on a 3 day protein shake "fast". I thought I was going to die with nothing to chew.
Thanks for any ideas,
Sharon
I've been having trouble myself lately - and it's driving me crazy. Have been doing my best to stick to plan, drink water, exercise, etc.
This past Saturday, I went down to NY for a family get-together. Very seldom do I get to enjoy family functions, and I was determined to stay on track. Did great until desert time - but I didn't get out of hand. Had two bites of my daughters huge brownie/ice cream/whipped cream bowl. Was upset I indulged, but pleased I limited my treat.
It's an ongoing struggle - I've been having problems since January, and I'm very angry with myself - but I refuse to give up.
One of my brothers took some pictures, and he sent them to me today. Unfortunately, I'm still trying to figure out how to post them. But I was shocked at how GOOD I looked. This was first picture since last May -- a photo is so different from looking in the mirror. Anyway, the picture has inspired me and I'm going to get it printed so I can put it up on my fridge, and on the bathroom mirror. It's proof for me that my hard work has paid off. I'm happy with the weight I've lost - but I still have a ways to go.
What can we do? We just have to keep plugging away, doing our best to figure things out and stay on track. Life is so much better!
Good luck to you.
Mary
