I have struggled since the beginning.  I keep starting over.  Nothing really works...exercise, low carbs, low fat, more veggies or more fruit or more protein.  Eventually I fail over and over.  BUT...I keep coming back here and it helps me get back on track.  If I wouldn't start over and over I would just keep gaining and probably end up over 300 lbs. or more.  Then I wouldn't be able to move.  I have diabetes and pcos so I feel and think like one of the people that weigh 600 lbs. It is good that we keep trying to reach our goals.  I hope we all make it someday.  Tri

Yes i did. And that applies to me and my body. I can eat a lot of calories as long as i limit sweet or starchy Carbs.  When i introduce carbs - even on limited calorie diet i star gaing. 

I also can eat more foods s long as they are in natural state ~ i.e. nuts vs nut butters.

Have you watched Dr. Lustig's videos on You Tube?  They are called "Sugar the Bitter Truth" and "Fat Chance".  if you liked his book and this article, you'll really want to see these.  

He he makes sense.

Have any of you tried Flackers?  They are a cracker with net 1gm of carbs.  They are made from flax seeds...thus the name.  They are pretty expensive so I am interested in some opinions before I order them.  Thanks, Tri

Hi TaterBug and welcome.

It's very easy to let emotions get the best of us and run us off the rails. Also I find exhaustion contributes to my making mindless choices and chasing after two toddlers certainly can be exhausting. You've made the first step, there are great ideas and support on this site. Going back to basics of protein first meals, not drinking with meals and waiting until at least 30 minutes after eating to drink will get you on the right track. There are also some great articles posted...just look under 'resources' up on the blue banner.

I use my fitness pal to log what I eat daily .. You can input your stats in it and it will calculate how much you can eat to lose 1 or 2 lbs a week

It is so frustrating, but with some support and getting back to basics we can do this!
